Warmer winters less energy consumed to keep warm, land is more productive as crop variety and yield increase, extra rainfall provides an opportunity to use water for hydro power and for sale to low rainfall areas.

Climate change has many faces

to change crops is not an instant process ,Farmers are committed to equipment ,changes take time and money

In many places a 1 degree rise in temperature represent 10% crop loss,
Some places have more droughts,

whilst others get super amounts of rain, and most of the extra rain fall runs back into the seas because people are not geared up on Water harvesting.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiKImCsne9ukDPxmAsJ.TuLsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071119121909AAzv1nv

And the present systems are not ready for these huge quantities ,dams break or over flow.

Some places get warmer ,and at other times other places get colder.

Depends where you are ,but even if it is bad in other places the effects may still reach you in the end

The price of beer may go up ,because of potable water shortage
and food prices may rise because the third world slave countries got lots of problems due to Global Warming.

In Chiapas ,and Tabasco in Mexico .more then a million people became homeless overnight with water coming up to their roofs ,because of rains from super evaporation from the forests, this had never happened before.
Millions of animals died

In India 3000 people died because of super storms .
Right now the average death toll annually is 150.000 due to Global warming
a few years ago a whole bunch in France as well.

these figures are already out of date and are expected to double soon.

In Northern China millions of people are running for their lives because regular dust storms so far have buried 900 villages under the sand
and the whole of northern China is turning into a dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year all around the edges ,like a slow burning fire shriveling up their neighbors

In the Kalahari huge rivers have dried up and thousand of species are gone due to their habitats disappearing

when the north pole is gone , you may have polar bears soon in America ,looking for a home ,as the boll weavel sings.

the biggest changes are invisible at micro biotic levels species are becoming extinct ,others are multiplying ,this affects the insect populations that follow ,and changes in that affect all that follows in the food chains ,All life is interrelated of both flora and fauna,

And we as being on the top of the food chain are always the last to know

Its a good question, but remember its climate change we are talking about this by its nature uncertain and it is very possible the western Europe will get a lot colder. But assuming we all get warmer in the winters. I would expect us to have hotter summers. Great you say can't wait to get to the beach, me too. Did you know that in a lot of places already these hotter summers have put a massive strain on the electric grid because of the huge increase in the use of Air con. I don't know about you but my electric bill is high enough already!

To sasil85 your right 3% sounds such a little number what's the problem? Most global warming is natural, good thing too or we would all freeze. But what you seem not to mention is nobody saying this is a bad thing, No one. I think it adds about 30 degree c on Average to the earth. What the scientist are saying is were adding an extra greenhouse effect, say 0.7 degrees C on average on top. Still sounds like a little number? Well it still increasing would 1 degree still be ok, or 2 degrees?
So are you sure they don't include all the figures in their models. Up to now they tested the models out by including all the figures from passed years and then comparing the prediction of the model with what actually happen, over time these models have become better and better, not perfect but pretty good. How could these models possible work by not including 97% of the data, I am at a loss how this might have happen if it were not by magic. Perhaps that it, Al gore is some dark witch running a dark conspiracy off all the major scientific bodies in the world.

Global warming effects us all everywhere. Its not just carbon dioxide that is a greenhouse gas. Methane is another large contributer to global warming and guess where most of it come from.. The intestines of animal agricultural livestock.
Yep, when cows fart it ruins our mother earth!

Cows and sheep and pigs.. all of which are breeded throughout the world. Maybe less in the southern hemisphere..
However; the imbalance can be noticed everywhere.
Especially when we have warmer and warmer days around the equator.. these hot days start forest fires and burn millions of acres of crops... And we are tearing down rain forests which is also releasing co2 into the air.. So..

It effects everywhere.

merry xmas

One problem is that I don't even see how people are saying global warming when the Earth is actually going through a cool spell compared to the recent history. Another is if you look at the facts behind global warming it is a natural occurence true man has had an effect, but most of it is from nature. If you actually look at all the greenhouse gases etc. Man made gases account for less than 3% of global warming. Its funny when you ask these so called environmental scientist why they don't included all the gases in their studies they are just like cause we never have before. Basically they should say cause those crazy nutjobs like Al Gore gave me money.

Its not just warmer weather. Its melted ice meaning oceans will raise significantly. No ice means less fresh water. Also, the weather patterns will change. Places that get lots of rain now may become deserts and vica versa. It gets political when a once rich land dries up and the people need resources form somewhere else. Climate wars have already begun in Africa. It will mean the redistribution of man and his wealth. And its happening. Now.

Well silly person, 4 degrees more kills crops, warmer waters, kill fish, too much rain causes massive flooding.. Stop denying and try doing something about the problem.
