The true faith, the "rock" and foundation, is that Jesus is the Son of God. Those who believe this belong to the true church of God. They are called Christians, followers of "the Way", a people identified with Jesus Christ.
Christian "faiths"... be it Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Protestant, Evangelical, Pentacostal... whatever - all are man's attempts to understand and organize. To put God in a box, who of course we will never truly understand and fully comprehend.
Christianity is not about living a religious life according to our churches doctrines and traditions. It's about living a Spiritual life in a dynamic relationship with our living God.
Faith is simple; we just make things harder than it has to be.

Ha I love how catholics always say there church is the true church. Yes the orthodox churches spawned off of the Roman catholics, but that doesn't make it the "true" church. It may have been the first church but that means nothing when your teachings are wrong. Jesus Christ is the true church, His body is the church not a building. Baptist were even around during the roman catholics, they were called anabaptist. They were baptizing those that departed from the catholic church, along with pagans and so forth. I am not saying baptist is the true church, like I said Christ is the true church. Religion isn't what gets you to heaven, being a church member isn't either. Salvation is by faith, repenting of your sins (to God, not a priest), and simply just believing in Him.

First you don't need to at the term Greek to Orhtodox Orthodox. I am Orthodox and I tend to get ofened when peoiple do this unles it is specific to the Greeks this question is not. Anyhow let's look t the difrences.
first the Church structure the Roman catholic Church is Papal with the final athoraty resting in the patriarchate of Rome. The Orthodox church is concilar with multiple patriarchs and all bishops are equal. The scripture talks about how the Apostles were not meant to rule over one another.
Also with this there is the issue of the council of cardnials an Orthodox patriarch is chosen by their prespetive synod of Bishops and the Bishops are chosen by the Synod it's a colective choice while the Pope of Rome is chosen by the Cardinals who in turn were chosen by the Popes this not only is a new inovation of the time after the fall of the western Roman Empire it also deminishes the athority of Bishops. Next the Filioque- the Pope added this unilateraly over riding the choice of the eccuminical councils that stated the creed wish finished. Also in unilaeral chices that went against the canons- manditory celibacy of priests it was long established traditon that the Church ordained married men as well as monks and others who took vows of celibacy to the priesthood. The Roman cathoic mass violates canon by knealing on sundays depsite the statments that sunday is a day of celebration and you should stand.
Also on the subject of major unitateral changes the Roman Catholics created the papal stae on the basies of a forged document- the donation of Constantine have run escigilogical couts that have sentinced people to death, orginsied monastic military orders
it is against canon law for the clergy to kill.
Puirgatory and indulganceshere are examples of doctrine added by the Roman Church. Both work on the principble sin is not copleatly forgiven with out punishment and seem to prtray salvation in a concept of a balance sheet.
Where you spend time in purgatory until you get a 0 balance and any thing extra can be used to pay for the sins of others. In Orthodoxy this is not the case your forgiven when you repent no purgatory and no mortal/ vinial sins sin is sin and is viewed in a clinical sins as it is a disaes that we must be healed which is done by the relationship with god.
In short from Rome's traditons of reformation counter reformation and development of doctrine you have drifted away from the true faith.

If you read the bible and study it then you will find that both of these fail and do not agree with what Jesus Christ taught. There has always been a true church that is built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Persecutions never were able to stop it and even though many lost there lives for Jesus Christ the true church is alive and still serving God today

I believe that the Catholic Church is the true church. There was a schism during which the leader of the Church (the Pope) stayed Catholic. Read more books. I find it interesting that, although the Orthodox churches believe that they are the true church, they didn't continue having a pope to lead them.

I was baptized and grew up Roman Catholic. I honestly don't believe either one is the original Christian faith. Not sure what it was, but it may have been more simpler in practice and belief, without much of the dogma in either of those two.

All religions are true until God (not religion) deems them otherwise. What's a true religion vs. a false one in God's eyes? The so called "true religion", is really religion competition in disguise. Every religion wants to be King, but they call it "True". Just notice that God won't touch the religion bickering with a ten foot pole. The faith that you are most comfortable with is the true one, for you.

As a Muslim, I believe Jesus was a prophet of God sent to the Jews, however his message was greatly distorted and mixed with paganism .. For example, the trinity, the original sin, the human sacrifice and the God man theology are all pagan beliefs Islam Came to Bring people back to the true religion of God
Qur'an Surah 98
Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, were not going to depart (from their ways) until there should come to them Clear Evidence,
An apostle from God, rehearsing scriptures kept pure and holy:
Wherein are laws (or decrees) right and straight.
Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence.
And they were commanded no other in the scriptures than to worship God, exhibiting unto him the pure religion, and being orthodox; and to be constant at prayer, and to give alms: And this is the right religion.
