Which is better, a Wii or PS3?
I enjoy all games but in particular sports games like madden and nba live...

It depends on what you want out of your system. If you like graphics and performance, you'll want a PS3. The Wii sacrificed good graphics for the sake of their snazzy controller.
I know this seems like a short answer, but truly- what do you want, graphics or a controller that makes you feel like you are actually there in the game? Once you've made that choice, you'll know which system you want.
I personally don't like sacrificing graphics. Graphics to me are what make the games awesome, especially since I am an owner of an HDTV, so I got a PS3 instead of a Wii. However, I plan on adding a Wii to my gaming arsenal soon, anyway, just because there are some games that the Wii has that I'm dying to try out.

For sports games like Madden the PS3 is better. I personally love the Wii... its fun to get really into the games :)

Tecnically PS3 beats Wii hands down. Wii is intended for all-family-fun, but if you want to play serious games with good graphics & physics - go for PS3. I think, that sport games will run on Wii, but more serious games, like GTA IV won't run on it. GTA IV, in particular not even announced for Wii, because it's too weak to handle this type of games.

well i know how you feel man, they're both great you can actually play as a nfl or nba superstar by getting in the game, but the ps3 has better graffics and stuff the wii can't have. they're both hard to choose but i go for the ps3

It matters how old you are.
5-11 you would love the wii
and i am 12 and i love the ps3!!!!
better selection of games and when your just bored, you can just look at it's stunning graphic's while the WII's graphic falls bad!!!

what about xbox?
PS3 is for older people whereas a Wii would more suit children and pre teens
