Funnier still, how can you be a member of a peaceful religion, and claim to believe in a loving God who will protect you (or if he doesn't it is his will that you suffer), and own a weapon for killing people?

Sorry but living in the UK we tend to see the NRA as a very scary joke. How Americans run round claiming the constitutional right to own a weapon and then wonder why there are so many public shootings still amazes me.Seen Bowling for Columbine? Kind of sums it up.

I'm an old guy and I hate this new alphabet language that young people are so taken with. What is NRA, is that something like IRA or what.
Thanks Cindy for your help. I don't see a problem between the two things. People who are pro "guns" can be anti murder. They have been for hundreds of years.

Those are two very different things. I really don't see what one has to do with the other. I guess it depends on how much gun control your refering too. Personally i'm pro life but i don't see why someone shouldn't own a gun for the purpose of protection or simply to use for hunting. I do think we need better background checks and stricter rules for purchasing guns.

Because potential people are far more important than real people.
But anyway, this is based off the stereotype of the right wing gun nut, anti-government, "pro-life", pro-guns, anti-social welfare, etc...
Yeah, entirely hypocritical.

pro life is concerning abortion, and also inappropriately named in my opinion. Everyone is pro life... it's whether you put the choice to decide what is right and wrong with the individual rather than deciding for them.
But to answer your question, I don't see a contradiction.

no way, besides, pro-life doesn't exist anymore - you folks took it away from us. now we're "anti-pro choice" so gimme back my gun. I gots to shoot me some deers!
EDIT: NRA is National Rifle Association, the IRA is the Irish Rebublican Army - a terrorist group - they're not similar at all.

Shouldn't Christians be pro-life?
Abortion is cold-blooded murder. Christians do not, or SHOULD NOT, condone murder of helpless babies.
Edit:
We don't have NRA in our country so I wouldn't be able to speak on it. In my country, it is an offence to carry firearms, unless you are in the armed forces or police.
