According to Mary who has been appearing at Medjugorje since 1981 : "When you see a night illuminated by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign from God that the chastisement of the World for its many transgressions is at hand, through war, famine, persecution of the Church and of the Holy Father." After the visible sign - those who are still alive will have little time for conversion.According to Mirjana (visionary),we are close to the events predicted by the Blessed Virgin.

We will never give up, because it will really happen. You wait and see, one day... or maybe night... all true believers will disappear before your very eyes. Then there will be chaos in the world. Pilots might disappear, truck drivers, even. Then you will have around 7 years of suffering. For the Antichrist will rise up, and he will control the world. Everyone will think he is of good intention and everything. But actually, he's evil. He will be very charismatic to win the hearts of the people Then later, he will have everyone identified and once you have yourself identified, you are doomed. You will never be saved anymore. Why don't you believe now? You've got nothing to lose and you benefit from it even.

It doesn't matter how long we wait. How long did the father wait for the return of the Prodigal Son.
We know not the hour, of the Master's appearing yet signs all foretell that the moment is nearing when He shall return tis a promise most cheering but we know not the hour.
There is light for the wise who are seeking salvation, there is truth in the book of divine revelation, each prophecy points to the great consummation, but we know not the hour.
We will watch and we'll pray with our lamps trimmed and burning, we'll work and we'll wait till the Master's returning, We'll sing and rejoice every omen discerning, but we know not the hour.
He will come, he will come let us watch and be ready, He will come, he will come Hallelujah, hallelujah He will come in the cloud of His Father's bright glory, but we know not the hour.
Franklin E Belden
Nevertheless; may I offer this advice to you?
Be Ready When He Comes.
There is awful danger in delay, be ready when he comes, will you cast your every hope away, be ready when he comes.

We've been waiting for 2000 years, and I suspect every generation thinks that He will return during their time. Our generation is no different, we have plenty of people making money off His return. There's always plenty of interest in this event.
So I think we'll keep waiting, as long as it takes.
This is who we are

If the wait becomes too long they'll cover themselves with something like "he's with us in spirit, and that it what the bible meant all along" and they'll go right on believing.
You must understand, these people do not believe as a result of a rational process; they believe because they want to.

how long will it take for people like you to realize that Christ will not come back until the Father says- and also until He has given people like you a chance to come to salvation? He is patient waiting for you to come to Him- because if He does come back before you accept Christ- it will be too late.

If there's one lesson to be learned from scripture, it is patience, strengthened by faith.
Besides ... even if Jesus doesn't return during our lifetime, we will all certainly return to him, at the moment of our death ... for judgment.
