predicted familial height is a mathematical formula

for guys - (Dad + Mom + 5") / 2
for girls - (Dad - 5" + Mom) / 2

so we have

male = (66 + 71)/2 = 68.5"
famale = (61 + 66)/2 = 63.5"

plus or minus an inch and subject to the accuracy of your measurements as well as any health considerations.

Does your pediatrician have your growth chart, it is filled out when the parents bring a newborn for monthly visits...Your pediatrician may be able to predict your height from the pattern of growth throughout your childhood!

since this is really just curiosity and doesn't need to be scientifically 100% accurate... rumor has it that if you double the height you were on your 3rd birthday - that should be pretty close.

I forget where I heard that so, don't go betting money on it or anything.

69cherokee... yahoo often chooses the category for you if youre unsure. let the poor thing be. goodness.

id guess you to come out to around 6 feet. however, my boyfriend is 6'6, and his mums 5'4, and his dads not too tall either. he had great great uncles who were 6'6' and up, so who knows ;)

That is not a genealogy question. It is a genetics question. Genealogy is a HISTORICAL body of research about your dead ancestors that anybody can do if they work at it. Genetics is a SCIENCE that requires years of college to be a geneticist. The two are NOT related. Genealogists are NOT geneticists. You asked your question in the wrong category.
