By far the majority of Jews are Zionists. You find around the world the few non-Zionists amongst Jews often try to get traction via signatures etc- in South Africa, our local court Jew (Ronnie Kasrils, a minister in the govenrment), tried to start a petition to get support from local Jews for an anti-Zionistic campaign and got under 200 signatures- at the same time, the local celebrations for Israeli independence day drew in over 7000 people countrywide- out of a total Jewish population of around 80,000 people. Shows how many people were willing to go to an outside event, in freezing cold winter weather, with terrorist threats against them to show support for Israel (and yes, I know people who didn't go because of those threats) vs the minimal commitment of signing a piece of paper to attack Israel.

The same holds true of virtually every Jewish community worldwide- the Zionists heabily out number the anti-Zionist. This is because Zionism is completely built into Judaism. There are laws that can only be observed in Israel (such as the laws relating to agriculture, the shmitah year, the peyot of the field etc), it is considered the holy land and there are comments in the Talmud that every step taken in Israel is a fulfillment of the positive commandment to live there and so on.

I am Christian, and I support Zionism. The scriptures foretold the re-establishment of the nation of Israel, and now it's happened.

Come to think of it, that's a good point to argue the truth of the Bible: Jews had been oppressed for centuries and hadn't had a homeland in centuries. By 1948, when Israel was finally re-established as the Jewish state, the Middle East was dominated by Muslims. With all the hostility toward Jews in the region, there is no way that it should have worked out. But against all odds, it did. The fledgling nation has survived and flourished, despite MULTIPLE wars of aggression waged by its hostile neighbor countries. Almost nobody thought it was possible. But God told us beforehand that it would happen, and it did.

According to the Oxford dictionary Zionism is-- "a movement for the development and protection of a Jewish nation in Israel. "

So yes, as a Jew I fully support the cause of a Jewish nation-state in the Land of Israel.

A large group(majority) There are however smaller groups of Jews who are against it. but their voices are drowned out by the zionists who want the world to look at the issue one dimensionally. Especially from their standpoint. It is my understanding that the Jews religious book(Torah) states that they are to wait for the Messiah and he is to guide them into Israel. Seems as though very few have faith and decided to take matters into their own hands. and why are we thumbing down Noors answer? She simply pointed out the small groups of Jews who are against it.

I agree with the Nazarene. God said through the prophet Jeremiah that He would scatter the Jews. But he also stated that He would bring them back. which He did in 1948.

They are not all alike. Among the People of the Book, there is a party who stand by their covenant; they recite the word of Allah in the hours of the night and prostrate themselves before Him.

Blind always lead the blind. To The Lord belongs the East and the West and then they dispute where their land is.
Wonder if they will stop bashing their heads against the wall one day?

I don't think so.

But Jews have a saying meaning good-bye:

Next year in Jerusalem.
