Okay here it goes.My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 3 years yet we do not spend the Christams together because we spend it with our family as it is.We both attend the same university, are going home on the same day and having a fun day of hanging out at the galleria, watching a movie, having dinner at his grandmother's and spending the night there then driving home.So one of my guyfriends today was telling me on how I should maybe spend this Christmas with him and his family yet here is where it would get all sticky. My family and I open presents and then that day is my brother's birthday so we usually throw a party for him with close friends.I do not know when the party would be pushed to now because my folks are having hardwood installed on Monday and then they are painting the rooms downstairs. Then I also want to spend time with my family yet want to see my boyfriend at the same time because he does a lot for me especially after all that happened this semester!

Okay,so a party, presents, family time and spending time with my boyfriend.Well now it becomes even more complicated.I had 2 seizures this past semester and since I have had them at such a short interval-3 weeks between each other-I cannot drive for 6 months yet 2 have already passed so someone would have to take me to my boyfrien's house and back so it would be more of a hassle than having fun.I know that during winter break I spend time with my family, help my mom get ready for the party, with the food, speding 4 days in Dallas with my sister and the rest doing a bunch of nothing yet the only time I usually see my boyfriend is on Christmas Even when he drops by and we swap presents and on New Year's Eve when we go and maybe paty-to a club.So what should I do?There are some good and then some cons to this whole situation

Just do what works for you & your Boyfriend, don't worry about which family, where, when, etc.Just go with the flow that works for the two of you.If one day you're married to him things will straighten out.In the mean time both families already know you & your boyfriends time is limited because it's a school break, they'll understand whatever you decide.Don't knock yourself out, just enjoy the season as it rolls along.

You have a lot to do with your family and need to make time for your boyfriend too. Why would you be thinking you could fit spending Christmas with some other "guyfriend" makes any sense? Sounds to me as though something else is going on here. Your brother's birthday is on Christmas and you don't know when the party would be pushed to because your parents are having hardwood flooring installed on Christmas eve? Who installs floors on Christmas eve?

Have you considered inviting him over to your house with your family? Or if he has a family of his own, maybe you can invite both family's to a resteraunt to open gifts. Kind of like reservations for a birthday party.

you have a pretty complicated christmas coming.lol.
well what you should do..
is half and half.
spend some time at your family's house..
then go with your boyfriend.
tell your brother that you will make it up to him for
missing his birthday.
