I exercise a lot and have not tried it myself, but people at work have. They say they go to Curves all of the time. Not trying to be judgemental but, assuming they are telling the truth about going, they still look pretty out of shape and pudgy to me.

You didn't ask this, but "The Firm" cardiosculpting/sculpting DVDs using the step would give much better results. Curves' philosophy is that people lose the most fat by combining cardio + weights and "The Firm" programs on DVD do just that. I am sure there are other workout DVDs that do the same thing, but I really like The Firm because they really work and you get results.

You can see some video clips of the routines at collagevideo.com

Curves relies on the principles of circuit training and muscle confusion. Combined, these two techniques allow a person to combine their weight training with cardiovascular exercise. Muscle confusion prevents plateauing allowing a person to consistently see results. You can achieve the same results by applying these techniques at any gym. All you have to do is one set of 8-15 reps on roughly 12 different machines in succession. These machines must target all of the major muscle groups (chest, back, legs) and the minors (biceps, triceps, and abdominals). *The terms major and minor are used only as a reference as to their respective sizes. All muscles are important in achieving total body fitness. After doing a set on each of these machines, you must go through the ciruit until you have completed 3-5 cycles. You will start off with 3 and then later will be able to build to 5. Throughout these exercises, the only breaks you take will be the ones between going from machine to machine and possibly 30 second rests to catch your breath. This helps to maintain the heartrate necessary for fat burning. Good luck.

Curves has a really fun exercise program but personally I didnt have any success.

A year later I joined Snap fitness and for me that worked really well....I lost 40lbs....its a 24hr fitness center so it worked perfectly with any schedual I had and because of that I was more motived to go and work out longer!
