It's really begining to get to me. I ask a question, and instead of answering it, people try to read alternative motives, assume I'm single or attached etc, then give advice based on something completely unrelated. Just now, for example, I'm surprised at the number of people who answered my question "Would you rate this question as interesting" as "yes" but didn't rate the question. It mean it goes on and on and on...

for one thing, that is not a question at the top. If you want to ask me something you can email me and I will answer any of your questions.

Not only that, I'm just frustrated by the people here who do not even answer the question in the first place. All they do is attack the questioner, thus defeating the whole purpose of Yahoo! Answers...to be a place where people can get questions that are hard to find on the internet answered by people and specific to their situation. Also, it should be a place where people can help others because of the fact that they've been in that situation or a similar one.

Maybe it's the whole point system and how people rush through questions and see how many they can accumulate in a certain amount of time. Eh, it's the consequence of reward.

Honestly, a lot of times the questions are tooooo loooong. I don't know if this is the case with you, but that is usually when I give it the gloss over.

Listening or reading to understand what people are saying requires effort and unfortunately, most people aren't willing to exert that kind of effort.

the art of listening is difficult to master. reading should be a gimme, but people are basically wanting to give their own opinions to people they don't even know.
