That's it, really... Even if I get a full night's sleep and wake up naturally, I still need a nap in the middle of the day. What's wrong?

Sleep is a very important process for your body and if you are sleeping excessively, its your body telling you that too much energy is being exerted, either physically or psychologically. Hyposomnia, can be caused by depression among other disorders. along with certain medications such as sleep aids. It can also be due to physical or nutritional imbalances. Are you getting enough nutrients in your diet? fruits, veggies, milk, etc. it can be easy to get so busy that you forget to eat well. You might ask yourself when it started and look at what your life was like then. any stressfull situations? Try improving your diet, lay of alcohol (which is a depressant) and get help from friends or family if you feel overworked or over stressed. You could also go to your doctor to have them run a blood test to check for deficiencies. good luck, take care, Dr. Max S.

It could readily be as simple as diet issue.. a vitamin deficiency. Eat less fatty food and perhaps eat more complex carbohydrates. You should also try a multi vitamin each day.. and also a Vitamin B complex especially. We old people need such boosts.

By the way.. a little exercise also helps oxegenate your blood which will keep you feeling "vital". Do enough of it and you get a dopamine hit which although addictive... will help stave off depression.

Well if your not very active that will make you sleepy, sometimes if your stressed out that will do it to,or you may have mono. You may just need to do more than go to work and come home, try taking up a hobby or working out after work and getting to sleep alittle bit earlier it may help give you a boost.

That's bullshit Lindsey, you don't even know how old the person is. People get this way for more reasons than old age. There's old people who are so alive and fit. So shut up you don't know what you're talking about. You're not being blunt you're being an ***.

It's winter; the body wants to sleep during wintertime. I'm always much more awake during spring and summer, but the long hours of night in the winter, coupled with the chilly, overcast days, make me just want to sleep and sleep.

One of the many possibilities is that you may be a little depressed.

Good luck, from someone who understands :)

you're getting old. Sorry to break it to you like that, I'd try to sugar coat it for you but old people often have trouble understanding subtle messages so I have to be blunt. I'd give you maybe another 5 years to live at most. You're obviously getting so old that you can no longer drive faster than 40 mph on the freeway. You're so old that you forget where your glasses are while you're wearing them. You're so old.....well you get the picture
