So I am buying clothes for a two year old this Christmas as part of a "Letters to Santa" program. Whatever. So I get a letter from a woman who's english isn't perfect and she says she has a two year old, but in her letter she said that the two year old wears size 6T? I dont have kids, but even this sounds a little nuts to me. I dont know if the baby is extremely large for his age or she just wants the clothes to fit longer .. and there's no way for me to get in touch with her. Any suggestion from people with children this age as to what size I should buy would be SO appreciated. Thanks ;)

ummmm.... walmart gift card...

6t is for a 5 year old atlest, my daughter is abnormally tall for her age (2-1/2 yrs old) & i buy her 4t pants. i guess if the child is really chubby maybe, but then the leg would still be long & she may be able to hem them.

i say buy 6t sizes, but give a gift reciept.

good for you! your doing a wonderful thing! i wish i could afford that too.... merry christmas

My best friend's three year old wears 5T clothing, and has for quite a while. Of course, he's in the 90th percentile for his age.

When he was two he was wearing 3T to 4T.... so it is possible, but highly unlikely that her child is that large.

Like the other have said, she is either unfamilar with the sizes OR she wants the clothing to last a long period of time. Also, she may have another, older child, and will use the clothing for both children when the time comes.

You could get the size 6T clothing, or if possible, get a gift certificate to a children's clothing store. It would be best if you had the child's height and weight to go by.... but that probably isn't a possibility, is it?

Good luck, and bless you for your contribution. :-)

I don't have small children now but I can say that 6T is a very large size for a child that age. I suspect the woman either is unfamiliar with sizes or she wants clothing to fit for a longer period of time.

that's very odd... i never heard of a two year old wearing a 6 T.. maybe it was a mistake...

sometimes 2 year olds wear 3T... or 2T, but the 3 is probably safest. maybe get the item at a national store (like JC Penney or walmart?) and include the receipt so it can be returned for something which fits.

take care and merry christmas

I can't imagine a 2 year old wearing size 6T. But you could always include a gift receipt with the items so that they could be exchanged in case they don't fit. I mean, I KNOW what size my daughter wears, but sometimes what should be her size doesn't fit.

Well, it IS possible. I dont know why she would lie. there are actual some big humans out there , who have big babies. Not saying that it ISNT a typo but I wouldnt dismiss it. for a 2 year old id go for a 3T becuase its better to buy too big so they can grow into it. if someone is offering 6T take it. you can always get bigger clothes and wait til they grow in them later on.

a size 6 seems way to big for a 2 year old i have a 20 month old daughter and she is a size 1 so i would get size 2 and maybe a size 3 for a bigger child but definately no bigger then a size 3 i have a 7 year old step daughter and she is only size 6..

uh i liked the answer before me but if you are still unsure I would buy some outfits for both sizes that way she can still grow into them, its the gift that keeps on giving!
