The Most Important Commandment*
[3:18] GOD bears witness that there is no god except He, and so do the angels and those who possess knowledge. Truthfully and equitably, He is the absolute god; there is no god but He, the Almighty, Most Wise.
Islam/Submission: The Only Religion
[3:19] The only religion approved by GOD is "Submission." Ironically, those who have received the scripture are the ones who dispute this fact, despite the knowledge they have received, due to jealousy. For such rejectors of GOD's revelations, GOD is most strict in reckoning.
[3:20] If they argue with you, then say, "I have simply submitted myself to GOD; I and those who follow me." You shall proclaim to those who received the scripture, as well as those who did not, "Would you submit?" If they submit, then they have been guided, but if they turn away, your sole mission is to deliver this message. GOD is Seer of all people.
The fundamental teachings of Moses, Jesus and Mohammed (pbut) are the same. The first commandment given to Moses (pbuh) was the Shama or Kalima, as Muslims would have it.
That Shama is:
De 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is One LORD”
Same thing was repeated by Jesus (pbuh), when a scribe came to him and asks him which is the first commandment of all? Jesus replied:
MARK 12:29 And Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is One Lord:
In the Medina some Christians came to Mohammed (pbuh) and asked him, what is your concept of God? At this moment God sent a revelation:
112:1 Say: He, God, is One.
If we read these verses in Hebrew or Arabic, the root word ‘One’ in Hebrew is “Ikhad” and in Arabic it is “Ahad”. Aramaic, Arabic and Hebrew are sister languages. Therefore, Moses said “Ikhad”, Jesus said “Ikhad” and Mohammed said “Ahad”. Meaning “One”.
If we are to believe in “ONE” God, than why God sent Moses (pbuh) with ‘Judaism’, Jesus (pbuh) with ‘Christianity’ and Mohammed (pbuh) with ‘Islam’?
Judaism:
If we are to follow the religion known as “Judaism” than this religion is not mentioned anywhere in the Law (Torah) (Old Testament) or Talmud or any other scriptures claimed by Jews to be the word of God. Nor did Moses (pbuh) in their sacred scriptures told his followers that their religion is “Judaism”. Where does this word “Judaism” comes from? Palestine was divided into tribes, one of them known as “Judea”. Therefore, the religion followed by the children of Juda in the land of Judea is known as “Judaism”.
Christianity:
If we are to follow the religion known as “Christianity” than this religion is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. Nor did Jesus (pbuh) told his followers that your religion is known as “Christianity”. There are 73 books in the Catholic Bible and 66 Books in the Protestant Bible, But no word such as Christianity is found in them. The word “Christianity” is actually a derivation of people who after the ascension of Jesus (pbuh), accepted him as their Messiah. It was first used in Antioch.
Acts 11: 25-26 “Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
If Christians believe that Jesus (pbuh) was their Messiah and the Bible is the word of God, than they must realize that no where does God says in the Bible to be Christians or no where does Jesus say in the Bible to be Christians.
Islam:
The Arabic word Islam is derived from the root word Salam or Shalom in Hebrew, meaning peace. The word “Islam” means Submission to God. Therefore, Muslims are those who submit themselves to God. This word is not only found in the sacred scripture of Muslims known as Koran, It is also found there in the Bible.
JAMES 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
PSALMS 66:3 Say unto God, How terrible [art thou in] thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. {(The Pagan Arabs were also enemies of God, but later on they submitted themselves to God (Became Muslims)}
Of course, the word Islam or Muslim is mentioned many times in the Koran. Like in this verse:
3:20 But if they dispute with you, say: I have submitted myself entirely to God and (so) every one who follows me; and say to those who have been given the Book and the unlearned people: Do you submit yourselves? So if they submit then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, then upon you is only the delivery of the message and God sees the servants.
Therefore if we had the chance of meeting Moses (pbuh) and would ask him, what is your religion (way of life)? He would say my religion is Submission to God (Islam). If we would be alive till the second coming of Jesus (pbuh) and would ask him, what is your religion? He would say my religion is Submission to God (Islam).
MATTHEW 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
If he would say I am a Christian, we will ask him, which church do you belong to? Or do you accept the extra 7 books in Roman Catholic Bible or not?
Now the difference between Torah, Gospel and Quran is of Law. God gives Laws according to the situation. For example:

Finally, someone has started to think intelligently and is challenging her own beliefs... bravo! I can guarantee that you will get a lot of answers to this post telling you that yes he can or no he won't, but I don't say either because that is something that you need to discover for yourself. According to most Christians, if you're not a Christian, you're going to burn in hell for eternity (nice God, huh) and Muslims (not all mind you) seem to think the same thing and that it's their job to send us there. As a matter of fact, I believe nothing could be further from the truth. Look up the word "perish" and you'll see what I mean. I think the words are "cease to exist" If you're burning for eternity, then you definitely exist. I own a Quran and nothing in it says to kill infedels. My advice is do what I did and invest in religious literature that is written by both sides and research the history of religion. Most Christians are surprised at what they find when they do this. Every religion has a God, and evidence has yet to deny the existence of one, so if you believe in prayer, pray that God shows you the truth. I believe the truth is more complex than anyone imagines and that none of us are completely accurate.

That's why names are so important.
If you had raised your family and was seeing your last years, and your child wrote you the most wonderful tribute to say thanks and they loved you- how sad it would be if you never received the letter because on the envelop was written "Dad" and nothing more.
In some ways, it must've been easier in ancient times when the Greek and Roman gods were in full force to differinciate betweens a persons beliefs. Satan must've been throwing a party the day Christians forgot God's name and started breaking into different sects.
The name of my God is Jehovah. He has a Son who was named Jesus when he was on the earth. My God is merciful and loving and desires none to be destroyed. (2 Peter 3:9)
He never even THOUGHT of burning people alive as sacrifice (Jer. 7:31) so how could he burn people eternally?
My God does not take our loved ones away from us to be with him in heaven. In fact, not all good people go to heaven. (Ps. 37:11) He's going to destroy this world the same way he did in Noah's day- by getting rid of the wicked, not the planet.
My God, Jehovah, does not punish people for never having had the opportunity to know him because of circumstances, mental illness, retardation etc. There will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Everyone in God's memory will have the chance to learn the truth about him (Acts 24:15).
There are COUNTLESS differences between the different sects of Christianity. Some cannot even agree on basic "truths"- is Jesus God the Son or the Son of God? What is Hell? What is the Soul? What is God's Kingdom and what will it do for mankind?
Truth is absolute. Broad and spacious is the road leading to destruction.. narrow and cramped is the path leading to everlasting life.

Why would God punish you for worship? Because you're doing it incorrectly? I don't think so. If God is as all-loving and all-compassionate as they say he is, then why would God care how you do it as long as you have Faith?
Now if you're worshiping God for the wrong reasons, well, that's different. God would want you to believe in him for the right ones, obviously. God shouldn't punish you for your mistaken thoughts. We have no elemental proof that God exists (I'm not saying he does or he doesn't), so for Him to say that He will punish you for thinking that way would be illogical. When you finally meet Him, whenever it is, then at the moment you should be forgiven of sin, as you now know what is real and what is pretense.
How could He punish for that?
Anyways, there is no "correct" "ultimate" form of worship. You either do or you don't. :)

Jesus started one true Christian religion. So today there must be just one body, or group, of true worshipers of Jehovah God. (John 4:23, 24; Ephesians 4:4, 5) The Bible teaches that only a few people are on the narrow road to life.—Matthew 7:13, 14.
The Bible foretold that after the death of the apostles, wrong teachings and unchristian practices would slowly come into the Christian congregation. Men would draw away believers to follow them instead of Christ. (Matthew 7:15, 21-23; Acts 20:29, 30) That is why we see so many different religions that claim to be Christian. How can we identify true Christians?
The most outstanding mark of true Christians is that they have real love among themselves. (John 13:34, 35) They are not taught to think that they are better than people of other races or skin color. Neither are they taught to hate people from other countries. (Acts 10:34, 35) So they do not share in wars. True Christians treat one another as brothers and sisters.—1 John 4:20, 21.
Another mark of true religion is that its members have a deep respect for the Bible. They accept it as the Word of God and believe what it says. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17) They treat God's Word as being more important than human ideas or customs. (Matthew 15:1-3, 7-9) They try to live by the Bible in their everyday life. So they do not preach one thing and then practice another.—Titus 1:15, 16.
True Christians love one another, respect the Bible, and preach about God's Kingdom
The true religion must also honor God's name. (Matthew 6:9) Jesus made God's name, Jehovah, known to others. True Christians must do the same. (John 17:6, 26; Romans 10:13, 14) Who are the people in your community that tell others about God's name?
True Christians must preach about God's Kingdom. Jesus did so. He always talked about the Kingdom. (Luke 8:1) He commanded his disciples to preach this same message in all the earth. (Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20) True Christians believe that only God's Kingdom will bring true peace and security to this earth.—Psalm 146:3-5.
Jesus' disciples must be no part of this wicked world. (John 17:16) They do not get involved in the world's political affairs and social controversies. They avoid the harmful conduct, practices, and attitudes that are common in the world. (James 1:27; 4:4) Can you identify a religious group in your community that has these marks of true Christianity?

Let us look at the problem from God's point of view. He loves His creatures, especially humans, immensely. He sent
His messengers in all the ages for guiding mankind to His
true path.
Satan, who has undertaken the job of misleading people,
counteered each and every messenger by two methods. During his lifetime, persuading people not to accept him, creating doubts as to his reality.
Once the holy prophet did the job and returned towards His maker, satan declared him to be a demi-god. More than a man, much higher, saviour, son of God or even God Himself.
Jesus was no exception. He brought earth shattering miracles. Jewish rabbis shamelessly belied him declaring those great miracles as magic. They even conspired to kill
him on the cross.
Once he was removed from the scence, the same satan started pursuing people that in view of his great miracles it could be concluded that he was son of God, nay God Himself.
Therefore God Almighty sent His next messenger, Muhammad. He confirmed the prophethood of Jesus, confirmed his miraculous birth and gave the glad tiding of his
return, to establish God's rule on earth. He will come soon and will rule the earth from the throne of David for 40 years.
That will be a golden period of history. Prosperity and peace will prevail everywhere.
May Almighty God keep us to see that golden period. In the meanwhile we can strive to bring two great religions, Islam and Christianity together, thus paving the way for the mission of Jesus.

You start from the premise that people are unworthy and need salvation.
I say, work on being a worthy person. Save yourself. That's what courageous and noble people do. Be your own hero. You messed up? Learn and make better choices next time.

Can God really punish people who have accepted other forms of worship for him?
From God all things come. If you have offended Him in some way, you will become aware of it just simply by being in His presence. You do not want to be anything but perfect there. You will want to do anything to make it up to Him, and He will give you the grace to bear your punishment. Just as you are about to receive it, however, Christ will accept it for you.

I'm glad to see you are thinking for yourself. I believe God is ever-loving and benevolent. He/She would never punish someone for their beliefs, and as long as a person is good in nature, there is nothing wrong with being a Muslim or a Jew. In fact, most religions, when you look deep, are really just one religion. God loves all of His/Her children, and would never hurt them.
