Yes, the hot link casing is edible.

Unless you're talking about a different type of hot link, but most of the one's I'm familiar with have a natural casing, similar to an old-fashioned hot dog.

If it's plastic, then It's obvious you shouldn't eat it.

Edit...
I don't know what Kosher has to do with hot links since hot links are typically made from pork which, btw, is not Kosher.

Sure. Its the same casing that hot dogs and other sausages are in. Keep in mind however, that the casing is typically animal intestines.

In general, no. If the label states kosher, yes. (Has to certified natural) If the label states what the casing is, then there is a decision to make.
