See your GP. He will probably refer you to a pediatrician. They have all sorts of wonderful ways of helping stop this problem. If he's only having this problem at night it may be he sleeps so deeply he miss the signal that tells him to wake up and go. There is a gadget that rings a bell when it senses it's time to go, it re programs the sleep patten so he then becomes aware of the need to go even if he's asleep. If its a developmental problem, nerve endings haven't developed properly etc the doctor will look right into it and give you some good advice and options. Don't just leave it as it plays a terrible part in eroding a child's confidence. Good Luck

Have you had him checked by a doctor? It could be that his kidneys or bladder are undersized or that he has urinary reflux. Some kids, unfortunetly, are just prone to it.
I might suggest that your son do " kegels " during the day when he pees. Start flow, stop flow, start flow, stop flow. Teach him how to flex those muscles and perhaps he can begin strengthening them.
Also, I know you limit liquids, but apple juice tends to irritate many children and cause accidents. Plain water seems to be the best. Is he drinking anything with caffiene? Like soda?
Good luck. And to help with cleanup, a plasticized sheet under a regular sheet, with a regular sheet under that makes it easy. Strip off the top two layers and the bed is still made.

Like everyone else said, have him checked out by a pediatrician and/or urologist.
Also, in school I had a friend with the same problem. Instead of making him wear "diapers', put plastic sheets under his regular sheets, that way if he has an accident, you can clean the sheets and just wipe off the plastic instead of worrying about urine soaking into the bed.

My grandfather, Mom, and myself had the same problem, and you usually outgrow it. My mom stopped when she was 13. I stopped when I was 8. If it's the same problem we had it's caused by a small bladder for the age your at. You always outgrow it just can't tell you when. I wore diapers at night until I was 8. It's hereditary. So it can be passed down. So it will be outgrown. Hope this helped and good luck.

has your son seen his pediatrician or doctor lately, hon? maybe take him, just for a check up to see if everything is normal.
they have disposable pads you can put under a person which are absorbant on one side, and plastic on the other... you can probably find them at walmart or even Ebay. The person can sleep on the pad, and it saves the sheets.
Poor guy... i sure hope things work out for him, and that his problems are resolved soon.
take care.

Many kids, especially boys have this issue. They generally grow out of it but it can continue until they're 15 or so. My sister's son had this and so did his father and his didn't stop until he was 13. It's nearly impossible to pinpoint the problem so it's generally left to run it's course.

my sister had a problem with wetting the bed until she was 12 she had a problem with her bladder and they gave her a pill to help out and it fixed it right up, i have an 8 year old niece who wets the bed and her parents have put her in pull up since she was 3, and she only keeps wetting the bed because she gets to wear pull ups with the disney princesses on them. i dont think they are a good idea unless he has a medical problem.

talk to a doctor about it. He shouldn't be embarrased, but he obviously will be. I would personally let him be a little embarrased if it meant identifying a possible problem and fixing it. Just let him know that nobody will know about it other than you, him and the doctor.
