Secret vs. Top Secret really won't matter when it comes to discovering liars, but the bottom line is that an investigator is trained to look for anything out of the ordinary, and exploit it. A lie WILL come out either early on or later on down the road, and my personal opinion is that if I have to lie to help someone get a clearance, they really shouldn't be getting that clearance in the first place. What does it say about my character if I lie to help them get a clearance? Do you want a dishonest person guarding secret information? I don't!

you're being misinformed. A appropriate secret risk-free practices Clearance isn't required to grow to be a pilot. Pilots interior the Air tension are all officers. united states of america protection tension officers are required to have a secret Clearance on the least. additionally, to acquire a value interior of united statesa., you should be an American citizen, naturalized or community born. Why do you sense the ought to lie some hernia? the very certainty which you will lie approximately it, makes you not worth to be an Officer. in case you will lie approximately something as inconsequential as a hernia once you have been decrease than a 12 months previous, what else will you lie approximately? Any risk-free practices clearance learn is especially to be sure your well being to hold a clearance and in case you're in probability of being compromised. via mendacity you're already exhibiting which you are not extra healthy.

believe it or not, the investigators know what to look for when they run into these types of issues. for one, they do NOT take one person's word alone, they will do other interviews and other investigation, and will discount any body's testimony that seems..off.

They can tell if someone is disgruntled or is looking to cause trouble. so as long as everybody you put down isn't trying to screw you over(either as a joke or out of spite) you should be fine.

Then again, if you are looking for people to lie in order for you to GET the clearance, well, that will be discovered too. and that will make things MUCH worse for you in the long run. talk about being screwed.

THERE WILL BE NO INTERVIEWS!!!! You will get only National or Local Agency background check for Secret! No interviews, no questioning people, just a check for criminal records, debts and such. If they find something you MIGHT see an investigator, but will just probably be denied clearance if it is significant and you did not disclose it on you Security screening form!

Well if your past friends and coworkers, lie successfully enough.

They must be really good liars and well coordinated, as multiple interviews are conducted and are cross referenced within all references and followups conducted or more references sought as needed. Inconsistancies invariably show up and are dealt with so one or two liars either way usually doesn't have a large impact.

It doesn't matter if its secret to TS, if the stories don't match, they will get to the bottom of it. Then it will be up to the investigators as to what happens.
