the canadian embassy doesn't give "speak test"... you must mean the speaking portion of the IELTS.

i'm not sure... but i think you take the general english exam (not the academic exam). and for that, you must score somewhere between 6-7.

edit: french is not required... it will be advantageous for your applications... but it's not part of the ielts and they don't require anyone to speak french.

Be able to read, wrtie and speak fluent English and French is the passing score for caregivers.
