What should I do to get a nomination from a senator or congressman for US naval Academy?

What should I do to get a nomination from a senator or congressman for US naval Academy, I can't apply because i am only a senior and not 17 yet,so what should I do just to make him or her think of me, right now I am volunteering at the Boys and Girls club and going to ask the police station for some Community Service?

In addition to the first answer, they hold a board in their district each year to decide who they will nominate for each Academy. The board consists of former (sometimes, still active) officers of the military, of any service. You may or may not be required to present yourself in front of the board, but your records (that you submit) will be reviewed for recommendation to your Representative.

Also, you need to go out right now and start lining up serious references to use (they will generally write letters on your behalf for your 'package')

Last - if you are not an academic champ, don't even bother to apply. Not trying to be mean, it is just that competitive.

You will be competing with the very best candidates, many of whom will turn down Ivy league schools to go to the Academy.

You should have already applied by now, if your a Senior in High School.

You need to do two things.

1. Go talk to your school guidence councilor, they will know exactly how you apply to your Senators and representative.

2. Go look at the webpage of your senators and your representative.

Most have a link on thier page, dealing with nominations for the service academies.
