Okay, first of all, I'd like to say that my bellyfat is pretty average and I'm a fit and healthy boy. There's not much, but there still is a little belly fat (and some chest fat).

I've heard jogging really helps with this. I don't have many appliances or anything nearby to work with, so I rather not buy anything and use something I have, like my own two feet."

So, my questions are. When is the right time to jog? And how long should I jog? Does jogging even help? If it helps, how much does it help? Is there a more efficient way than jogging? Perhaps, swimming (I have access to a swimming pool everyday)?

Thanks in advance!

Crunches/Sit ups!! Running will of course get you in shape overall. Swimming is excellent exercise for all parts of the body, but for direct results on the belly area I'm afraid crunches or sit ups is the best, most effective, fastest way. I hate them!!!! If I had to run I'd rather get up early before the day starts when it is cool & there is hardly any traffic. It gets the heart rate up for a better day! But if the only time you have is in the evenings then you should do it then. I'd hate to be out after dark now days tough!

First of all contrary to popular belief crunches in and of themselves do actually very little along the lines of losing belly fat. Though they do build abdominal muscles which will give you a six-pack but of course if you still have the belly fat then no one will notice (not even you). On the other hand the more muscles you have the faster you burn fat so that in conjunction with a cardiovascular exercise (any exercise that gets your heart pumping) would help.

Running/Jogging is probably one of the best ways to lose fat. I'm not sure how it compares to swimming but I would guess that swimming wouldn't be a bad option either. Almost any cardiovascular exercise would be good fore loosing fat. You should just go with whatever you would rather do because if you like swimming better than running then you would be more likely to stick with swimming, obviously right? Also some kind of mix between the two would bring diversity so you wouldn't get board doing the same thing every day.

As far as when to exercise goes I would say that morning is best, like right after you wake up. This is because if you work out before bed then once you lay down your body will want to relax and you will loose some of what you gained while working out in addition you won't have as good circulation while sleeping for recovery after workout. Sometime during the day isn't bad either but I would say that the closer to the start of your day is better because it would be that much longer that your body would be getting blood flow from constant moving and also staying active.

How long you jog would depend on you. You could just jog until you couldn't go anymore or do shorter distances at a faster pace with breaks in between or some combination. If you search google then you could probably find some pretty good simple workouts to try for jogging, swimming, etc. Do what works best for you and remember if you're not at least out of breath after a workout then it's too easy for you and doing little to no benefit.

Jogging will help some, but you need to combine your workout with crunches as well. Even the swimming will help.

I say you need to do both because the crunches will help to tone those ab muscles, but above the muscles is a layer of fat (the bulging part). That fat needs to go away, and jogging will help to burn it away. Same with swimming. You wouldn't think it, but when you swim, you actually sweat. You just don't feel it because you're in the pool.

As far as the best time to jog, well, that's up to you. If you work better in the morning, go for your jog first thing. That way, you'll get it out of the way first thing in the morning, and you won't have to worry about it the rest of the day.

If you don't have time in the morning, or would rather prefer to work out at night, then by all means, do it at night after school or work.

The key really is to find the time that suits you the best, and do it. Don't forget though, change your workouts every few weeks to keep your body working at it's peak performance, and also watch what you eat and drink throughout the day. Good luck!

Yes jogging will help.. You should try jogging everyday at least for half an hour, make sure that u r really determinened. Like I said start of with half an hour and then after a week or two push it up to an hour. Now if you d o this everyday till u get old it will start hurting you knees, so becareful. You can also use a swimming pool it is a lot easier on your knees too. again start of with half and hour then work your way up. But i don't think that u will be going swimming all year ... right cuz it is eventualy ganna get cold, right? :)

jogging/running will slim you up real fast. i ran 25 miles one week and it completely changed the way my body looked - long and lean. how to start depends on your age and health. i do 5 miles a day a few days a week & i'm 51. i mostly walk now due to my joints but it's still very beneficial. if you are younger you can probably do more. do it early in the morning, or after you come home from school or work. on weekends anytime. you could start out going for 30 minutes to see how you do. if it's too easy than increase it to 45 and so on. you can probably even find a jogging/walking club in your area if you look. be sure and have a good pair of shoes that fit very well. running shoes are very light weight and good for both walking and running. you can put vaseline on the bottoms of your feet before your put your shoes and socks on. it cuts down on the friction thus reducing blisters. take gatorade and a radio & get your groove on. before you know it the time will have passed. have fun!

swimming is the best overall excercise but for belly fat lay on your back and pick up your legs(keep them straight) about 3-6 inches off the floor and hold as long as you can

you should avoid the following liquids as much as possible: softdrinks, artificial juices, alcohol... and the following food: fast food (burgers, fries, etc...), junk food (potato chips, etc..), fatty food (pork...), white rice, white bread... at least get enough fiber in your system daily so that you won't feel any cravings during the day. and only eat in moderation. but eating the proper food and drinking the proper drinks are not enough for you to lose weight/bellyfat. you should also exercise. do sit-ups daily if you can. start slowly and increase your number of sit-ups as the days pass by...
