i don't think the passages necessarily debunk evolution, i think that they instead provide an alternative story that creationists believe to be true.

to my knowledge, there is nothing in the "good book" about evolution specifically

The order of creation as written in Genesis does not conform with biological evolution theory nor cosmic evolution...
Genesis 1 states that Earth was a watery planet from the beginning.... yet cosmic evolution theory from the *Big Bang* states that the earth formed into a hot molten mass and cooled over millions of years...it was not until much later that comets impacted the earth and deposited the first water onto it.
Genesis also states that the Earth was formed first and later, the sun, moon and stars were created...... which is, again, the opposite of cosmic evolution.
According to Genesis, on the fifth day, birds were created before reptiles or land creatures...evolution has them coming after.
Man was created in God's image or likeness.....not from a common ancestor with apes or primates.
The Bible states in Genesis that Death did not enter the world until after Adam sinned.....evolution states that death and struggle to survive, over millions of years, are the creative force that brought us to where we currently are.

nothing in the bible will ever plausibly accomplish this because the bible, itself is not plausible...remember that the church/religious leaders once believed that the earth was flat, and at the center of the universe? but it does make a good door stop.
