I have a JPEG image on my computer thats around 500X500 pixels. Is there any way I can enlarge it without affecting the quality? I want to have it as my background at full screen.

The quality will be adversely affected whenever you increase the size of an image without increasing the resolution, and there is no easy way to increase the resolution of an original image.

I have a 485x390 JPG as my desktop and in Display I just browsed for it and clicked Stretch. It looks perfect. But it is a landscape picture. If it was a person it may have changed ?

open your picture in Adobe Photoshop and while holding Alt key press two times i, increase resulation and press enter. then again while holding Alt key press two times i, this time increase width (height will be increased autometically) again press enter. now you can save your image any where in your computer where do you want.

or

open your picture in paint and while holding Alt key press i and then s, now increase width and height also manually and save your image where do you want in your computer.

or

send me that picture at my e-mail address lucky_10_lucky@yahoo.com, i will enlarge, make its quality good and will do some more work on your picture and will send you back.
