What are signs of a young boy starting puberty? I need to know some signs,my son is 11 years old and hes not really big or tall for his age,but he has really bad mood swings,and he acts younger then what he is sometimes,can this be a sign of him starting, please i need help!!

my son was 11 when he started that stuff, too... i thought he had emotional problems so took him to the pediatrician... i told the pediatrician i would prefer it if he talked to my son alone, first.
lo and behold the pediatrician asked me "did you ever hear of puberty?" i said, "he's only 11!" LOL
duh me! so i guess that could be IT.. if you are concerned, see the doc.

well kids are hitting puberty earlier than ever some as early as age 8 or 9 but usually it starts between age 11 and age 13. and yes sometimes they can have bad moods swings but it could also be that he is having depression of some sort as that can cause mood swings to.
