It seems there is no connection between Maan Kunti and Naag vans (Naag vans exists only in myth at the time of Mahabharat).
Both the father (Sura or Surasena) and the adopted father (King Kuntibhoja, the son of Sura’s paternal aunt) belong to Yadava race.
Reference 1:
There was a king by name Sura in the dynasty of Yadu. If we trace the origins of the Yadu dynasty, it would take us to the story of king Yayati, who exchanged his old age for the youth of his son Puru. Yayati had five sons, born to Devayani and Sarmishta, who were known as Yadu, Dhurvasu, Thrkyu, Anu and Puru. The dynasty of Yadu, in which Krishna was born, originated from the eldest son of Yayati and was known by his name. The lineage of Dhurvasu was known as Yavanas; that of Thrkyu Bhojas; the line that started from Anu was known as Milechas; and that of Puru, Pauravas. Kauravas and Pandavas come in the original line of Pauravas, some forty-seven generations (roughly) after Yayati.
Sura was a very highly respected king. King Kuntibhoja was the son of Sura’s paternal aunt. Apart from being relatives, the two were close friends and held each other with love, affection and respect. Kuntibhoja was a saintly king, widely read and treading the path of rectitude. Blessed was his life in all respects, except in one. And that happened to be the most vital of all blessings that a man would yearn for. He did not beget children. So great was the affection that prevailed among them that Sura promised to give the first child born to him to Kuntibhoja, in adoption.
The first child that was born to Sura was a daughter. She was christened as Pritha. Sura remembered the promise he made to Kuntibhoja and gifted him with his daughter, in adoption. Kuntibhoja showered his love on Pritha, who grew up as his only child. Pritha is more popularly known as Kunti, after her foster father.
A son was born to King Sura after that. That son, second child of Sura, younger brother of Pritha - Kunti - was Vasudeva. Krishna was born to him and Devaki, in prison. Therefore, Kunti becomes the paternal aunt of Krishna. Arjuna’s other name Partha, is actually the metronymic of Pritha. Partha is nothing but ‘son of Pritha’.
Reference 2:
Kunti (Pandavas' Mother), mentioned as native of Sura:
Mahabharata, Book 1, Chapter 110, (Reference 3):
Bhishma's words:- There are three maidens worthy of being allied to Kuru race. One is the daughter (Kunti) of Surasena, of the Yadava race; the other is the daughter (Gandhari) of Suvala; and the third is the princess (Madri) of Madra.
Mahabharata, Book 5, Chapter 90, (Reference 4):
Vasudeva Krishna to Kunti:- The daughter of king Surasena, thou (Kunti) art, by marriage, admitted into Ajamida’s race (The race of Kurus).

Sri krishna had to covince somehow Arjuna to fight and Arjuna was full of doubts Krishna told him all the yogas just to make him feel that it was the rule of the nature that the war is being fought no heart feelings and emotional attachement Arjuna temporarily understood them .But when we see the mahabharat arjuna acted as if he has totally forgotten it.Like the episode of abhimanyu he was out of his senses and many more, and even after the war was won he was a lay man rather than a transformed person that he was given the greatest knowledge so Arjuna could not live upto Krishnas expectations so he is not worshipped.

Kunti Devi was given in adoption to a parent of another clan, hence the change from Yadu's or Yadava's! Conforms to today's legal norms and 'brahmanical' change of 'gothra' on adoption and/or marriage of women!

KUNTI DEVI (also called Pritha and Parshni). [Source: Dowson's Classical Dictionary of Hindu Mythology] was daughter of the YADAVA prince Sura, king of the Surasenas, whose capital was Mathura on the Yamuna. She was sister of Vasudeva, another Yadava, and was given by her father to his childless cousin Kuntibhoja, in adoption by whom she was brought up.
So Kunti Devi and Lord Krishna were of Yadu Vans only and Lord Krishna called her as Bua.
May be Kuntibhoja who adopted Kunti as daughter was of some other vans (Naag or some other).-
