I really love my boyfriend. Things are just a little comfusing. He cried when we had sex because it hurt me. He tends to cry in public at theaters in sappy movies. He cleans and cooks. I love his personality but I do not want to be the man in the relationship. I don't want to break up with him but I think that it might have to come to that. Help me.

Ok...so I get where these answers are coming from...but even he has expressed that he would like to change. I want to help him out. The guy mentor seems like a good idea...I love his passionate sensitive side but there needs to be a balance. This is a newer relationship and a balance needs to be met. We are working through it....More advice would be greatly appreciated...

You're not proud to be seen in public with him? That doesn't sound like love. You don't "man him up." He is who he is. If you don't like it, you shouldn't date him. So, it's time for you to decide what's important to you. Him or what everyone else thinks of him? No one can make that decision for you.

i disagree with the saying "if you love a person, dont change him one bit". well, no one is "programmed" to fit us nice and perfect. there is still a small voice in us that wants our partner to change a little bit for the better.

back to the question, why not try bringing your man to watch sports games? or introduce some hard rock music? (being crude is not the answer.)

i have nothing against men who cook and clean. i think that's very thoughtful. :)

Be honest with yourself.

Why do you have this need to defend his gayness? Do you think he is?

What you described is a sensitive person, does that make him gay? I don't think so...it makes him considerate and passionate.

My advice is never change anyone. If you don't like him move on. Don't say his "gayness" is cause for a breakup.

If you don't love him move on...

firstly, it might be due to his upbringing, his circle of friends he associates, etc. Not easy to man a "girly" overnight. Start with changing the way he talks, then his wardrobe and discourage him against being so emotional. Go for group outing, let the manly mentor him. Best wishes.

Changing people is bad. Let him be who he is. Crying isn't unmanly, and many men like to cook and clean.

i think its very sweet that you have a sensitive boyfriend like that. you shouldn't worry too much about it. if you love him that shouldn't bother you too much.

If you like him so much, you shouldn't care what other people think.
