I think that to atheists, what they believe in is the truth, and who are we of all the other religions to say that is wrong? If an atheist is a good, moral person, and a Christian (I picked this one randomly) is a bad, immoral person, is the Christian going to heaven just for being Christian and the atheist going to hell just for not believing in God?
Does that even make sense? Then what would be the purpose of trying to live a moral life on Earth? If you're saved just by accepting Jesus, why bother?
The truth is whatever makes sense to you personally, which is why all religions need to respect one another. It is much worse for a person to feign belief in something they don't feel is true than for them to pretend to believe. That is the essence of a lie - when you live something you don't believe in.

Mankind has always yearned for the knowledge regarding their own existence. When they encountered something they could not explain, they created gods to explain them. Mankind is advancing and therefore has been able to explain much of what previously was unexplained. All civilizations had their own gods, and we are no exception. Gods of the Greeks, Romans, Mayans etc.. were often used an excuse as to why something happened, such as why did a volcano erupt, why did the land flood etc. I feel the Bible is no exception, it is a list of excuses as to why there is suffering and pain in the world in which God created. As we become more advanced and understand the way the Earth operates, how the universe operates and how the Earth represents such an irrelevant part of the whole, the literal words of the Bible begin to make less and less sense. Throughout the history of the world, each civilization had their gods, their explanations for the unexplained. The Bible describes another's. Oddly enough, we don't even have one Bible. There are scores of translations and editions and they vary widely from one to the other.
I think atheists are simply viewing the Christian world with a healthy skepticism. It deserves it.

I'm not exactly an athiest but i am not in any way religious either. I'm kind of in the middle. Anyway, to stick up for the athiests, they are no more or no less moral than most religious people. we dont need God to be moral. personally my parents raised me to know whats right and whats wrong. they raised me to have a conscience and if i've done something wrong to correct my mistake and make it right. God had nothing to do with that. My parents have never once in thier life stepped into a church. I've known athiests who werent nice people, and some have been the greatest people i've met. i've known religious people who praised themselves for what they believe and how they follow their beliefs and preach to others about how they are saved while non- believers arent, and then turn out to be the biggest hipocrites i've ever met. apparently if you're religious, you can get away with murder, they can be cruel and demeaning and God will ultimately forgive them. and i've met some who were wonderful people who were religious and took great pride in what they believed but also accepted the ones who didnt go to church and who let the occasional "Jesus Christ!" slip.(oh no! i used it in vain!) my point is, why is it that the people who dont believe are scrutinized for it? if you were Christian and you met a Muslim, or a Buddhist, would you give them the same lecture? Athiests believe in themselves and what they can do, not some dude from a few thousand years ago and what he did. Athiests live for what we beleive is right and moral, not what God tells us to do and beleive in. Sorry for the book of an answer but it's getting old now hearing how athiests are wrong. no ones wrong and no ones right. athiests dont go on about how religious people are wrong. they just dont care.

In the beginning, mankind didn't even existed, religiously or non-religiously. Then, there were polytheists civilizations. Monotheistic Civilizations didn't believed in several Gods, which was the world's general consensus, doesn't this make, Christians and Muslims and Buddhist and Jews kind of Atheists at the beginnings of their credence?

What is Truth and what is a Lie?
Yahushua is Truth, Satan is the father of Lies.
Truth: Yahushua the Messiah brought mankind His Father's GOVERNMENT, the Kingdom of Heaven. Thus, a Nationality.
Satan has created and tricked mankind into "religions," such of which are all under the control of the State, which by her very nature is AGAINST Messiah.
So one may have his or her little "religion" over here or over there, but they will pay and contribute their entire life all of their worth and homage to the State; which, again, is against Messiah - for Caesar (Satan) will brook no rival.
Satan, via papal scribes, have applied a Greek name to a Hebrew Messiah and hence have deceived billions of people into thinking His name is G-sus and that YHWH's Law has been done away with. What a hatred of the Hebrew who represents LEGITIMATE, LAWFUL government!
Meanwhile, the papacy makes and forces its own edict in the name of a (false) Greek Christ. Gzeus Chr-st is the Pope folks, be not deceived. It's called usurpation through missionary adaptation.
Satan is a clever little devil, isn't he?
Black is white; white is black. Slavery is freedom. And war is peace if the State hierarchy says so.
Oh, and as for atheists, just like "Christians," they worship the State too.
Wake up, folks! Wake up!

One man's truth is another man's lie..Even in religion..no two people agree..even in the same religion..makes no difference. Everyone sees things differently.I don't know about anyone else, but in my life, I've rarely run across two people that agree on anything, religion being one of those issues..as I said even within the same religion. I've been in the company of catholics that argue over what is supposed to be one belief and fact with the same end result. Surprise, it wasn't....As far as right from wrong, who am I to say that you should in believe in God just because I do. I can tell myself you are wrong and let you know it by telling you so but that doesn't prove anything as I said in the beginning......

The bible says that those who deny God are fools because the obvious facts of the existence of God is all around them if they really wanted to find him. On the day they search for God and for truth with all their heart and soul,,,that is the day they will find him.
They can live a good life apart from God....but they are not living the life God had planned for them. they can do what is right,,,,,,many atheists have high moral values....no doubt about it.....some Christians do not.....but the things that separates them,,,, one knows without God, they are nothing,,,,,,The other is trying to put their own self in the place God should hold in their lives....
Some hang on to the theory of evolution even thought they know it is flawed, because it is all they have,,,they don't have an understanding of who they are and why they are here.....and not all atheists believe in evolution...they freely admit they don't know how we got here.....they are a mixed bag for the most part. Having faith in nothing but their own ability to survive...

Why ponder these questions by yourself? If you had the chance to go to the source, would you? Could you put man's books down, and open yourself, to the Truth? We've had the negatives from the beginning, don't bother with them. He said come as a little child, ( there's a reason for that. ) Seek Truth, seek the One who, was, is, and will be, Truth. If you search for Him, you will find Him, ( Truth, ) And this part of your journey will be over.

Yes, mankind has been ignorant for all of History.
Atheists are not wrong for their theories. Their logic is undeniable. They will not be less moral without God than they would be with God. They are wrong for not believing in God, according to my faith, but no more wrong than I am for lying.
