There are a few places where you can find what has been called the Great Commission, or the words of Jesus Christ to His followers. All of these books and references are in the New Testament. If you don't have one, you can still log on to this website: http://www.blueletterbible.org where you'll be able to look up any verse you like.
Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47-49; John 17:18, 20:21; Acts 1:8 and following. As for responding to questions, and the like, read 1 Peter 3:15.
I hope these verses answer your question.

Matthew 28:19-20 is one such verse. Also in Acts 1:8 we are told to witness to the ends of the earth.

Matthew 28:18-20
18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

If i remember correctly it says something along the line of stoning us to death. Though jebus crispy does speak about evangelizing calling his disciples fishers of man.
