Yes, one of the signs of having a urinary tract infection is increased frequency of urination. Other signs can involve fever, pain on urination and the sensation that your bladder is not completely empty despite having just voided, blood in your urine, or discolored cloudy urine.

If your back is hurting, it is likely a sign that a urinary tract or bladder infection has now made its way up to your kidney. This needs to be treated quickly with antibiotics. Please go see your doctor.

Yes, and you can also have blood in your urine if you do have a kidney infection. I'd make a trip to the doc.

It could be, I would go to the doctor just to be sure. Symptoms include:
*Frequent urination
Strong, persistent urge to urinate
Burning sensation or pain when urinating
Abdominal pain or pressure
Cloudy urine with a strong odor
Pus or blood in your urine (hematuria)
Inability to urinate (urine retention)
Need to urinate during the night (nocturia)
*Back, side (flank) or groin pain
Fever

it could also be a kidney stone if it is hurting in your back.
Try drinking a bunch of cranberry juice and flush it out.
