No. In many cases it is just a chemical imbalance.

No! God knows your heart.
Being depressed happens to most everyone at one time or another. Perhaps a medication should be prescribed by a Physician.
If a depressed person commits suicide this is between God and that person.
There is always another way out through the word of God.

I think that depressed people are living in a state of hell on earth. No I don't believe that they go to hell- God offers everyone freedom from depression, just like he offers us health, and freedom from sickness, just like he offers us abundance and prosperity. People who have lived their whole lives struggling every day will probably get to heaven and say "Why did I spend my entire life struggling, when I could have been blessed, healthy, wealthy, and joyful??!!" I think that the devil wants people to be caught up in sickness, depression, and lack because then they can't or won't really do much for the kingdom of God when they are in that state. I mean there are 8,882 promises in the bible, yet how many does the average Christian even know exist? - So no, I don't think that they will go to hell. : )

Only a naturally happy person would say yes to this. It has been proven to be caused by a chemical imbalance and medications don't necessarily help. Depressed people can't control the fact that they just aren't happy. No one can force themselves to feel a certain way.

Depending on their sins. Depression if not caused by outside sources is due to chemical imbalances, which could not be controlled by the person. That would be like asking if people with a cut on their left hand go to Hell.

No. I think depressed people are living in hell already. Depression is a legitimate illness with many causes, and it's not a sin to be depressed.

Well, then, see you there.
Lamictal 300 mg
Effexor 150 mg
GABA 1000 mg
Works for me! Seriously, there a many ways people can be depressed and some of them are chemical. If you ever doubt that depression is part of faith, read David's Psalms or Solomon's Ecclesiastes. We are longing for more.

Depression is a reality for saved christians too. Sometimes events of our life are overwhelming emotionally.
Tragedy is never a happy thing for anyone.
Diet, sleep deprivation, events, and environment can create an ongoing emotional struggle that perpetuates itself.
I've been through it, and anti-depressants helped immensely. It did not take away from my salvation, and enhanced my serve for Him again.

Depressed people who have Jesus as their Savior can and will go to heaven. My wife went through depression and her faith along with meds and counseling saved her life.
I can well imagine a depressed person worrying about that, but being depressed is not unforgivable.

Sending depressed people to hell would be adding insult to injury. If you've ever had a major depressive episode, you know that's as close to hell as you'd care to imagine.

Yea totally. They go to hell because they don't believe in a spiritual god enough to be happy with their lives.
Wow, what a crazy question.
I guess when someone is depressed because their loved one just died instead of being joyful in the lord... then they get hit by a car, they go to hell. Nice.
