Does having more converts mean it is the true religion?
(Matthew 7:13-14) 13 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.

wouldn't it be better if few went there?

All you have to do is look at the example of Noah to know the fewer strict ones to the Bible are normally the most correct. Those that believe anything goes if you just believe do not really believe anything the Bible teaches when you get down to it.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad
is the way, which keadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14

here Jesus' exhortation to His listener's; is to enter in at the
strait gate, which leads to eternal life; the message of the
church and it's believers must be based on the Gospel message, and these verses ougth to be part and parcel of the
message.

Yes, it would be better if there were few. Out of the 6 billion people in the world. Relatively few will find the truth in this life. That is the message of that verse.

dear alyssa. if the gate that leads to eternal life is as stated narrow? can it be because the road to jesus and eternal life requires self to die?? .. HOW many actually are willing to scarifice their self or better yet selfishness and love their creator so much as to strive to obey him out of love for what he has done for them>> think about it .. bro murray

your religion isn't what God is grading you on, or the amount of people you draw into your church, The path is narrow for a reason, I think the object here is to realize there is a path....and getting off of it is a given for us, finding our way back too it is part of our growth as individual souls.
A million member church is nothing but a number, a one man church on the right path is the church I would like to attend.

For starters, these verses are not talking about heaven and hell. They are talking about living a life where you can be happy and at peace with yourself.
Humankind is basically stuck in the grips of attachment to physical things, and is full of fear; they grasp at things and don't want to let go.
Happiness comes from knowing that you can do without all those things. Few are able to get to that point in their lives.

As for god and heaven and hell; would you really want a god who condemns the majority of creation to "hell"?
