It prevents bodily fluids from coming into contact with each other. Condoms are very (but not perfectly) effective at preventing pregnancy and currently the ONLY method of birth control that provides protection against some sexually transmitted infections. However, they are NOT effective at preventing every possible infection. For example, if a herpes or syphilis lesion is not covered by a condom, it's still possible to spread it.

It does A LOT!!! I have been active for a while and have only had one condom break on me....

Condoms are a lot cheaper than a kid, and no you can't just use a condom, be responsible and use birth control as well as the condom...these two things are much cheaper than a kid. and if somehow you get pregnant than it must be ment to be.

Plus! Comdoms prevent most STD's such as HPV, the leading cause of cervical cancer, HIV...and many others..

So condoms do a lot, even though they can be a hassle they are worth it.

A condom provides a barrier that is intended to prevent pragnancy and stop the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases.

Latex condoms are the best barriers, but lambskin condoms may be used if either party is allergic to latex. Lambskin condoms still stop sperm, but they are not so effective as barriers to the spread of disease.

Not nearly as much as it should.........it's supposed to physically block the semen from entering the girl. If the dude can keep it on that is. I wouldn't recommend merely a condom, I would always suggest birth control as a safety precaution in addition

Well make him read the instructions it might seem stupid but seriously half the guys don't know how to use them and that is why they break!! Lets put it this way it's his armor for the battle of not getting a girl pregnant. But a girl should always use birth control too. Just in case something does happen.

It really doesn't do anything; however, if properly used, it can prevent a number of STD's, unplanned pregnancies, and the further proliferation of another generation of unemployed cell-phone, bling-bling having-Jerry Springer studio audience guest......mindless losers who can't spell their name, fill out an application for a J-O-B, but are somehow registered to vote.

When he ejaculates, it will prevent the semen from entering inside u. THis way u wont get pregant. Also, STDs such as herpes and also HIV could spread thru unprotected sex.If u use a condom, his fluids wont enter u body. Thereby, when used properly, condoms can prevent pregnancy and STDs.

It keeps the guy from letting his sperm go in you. This keeps you fairly safe from pregnancy and STD's like AIDs and Genital Herpes. It is not completely safe, so be careful, but if you trust the condom, then, there is no sense in not having sex unless there is a moral reason for not having sex.
