The Quran is not a continuation of the Bible. Islam is a continuation of the message revealed onto Prophet Jesus. As Muslims, we believe that after Prophet Jesus was raised up to Allah, some followers made convenient changes in the religion of Christianity. That is part of the reason why there are so many versions of the Bible. Muslims do believe that the Bible is holy, because some of what is in it is from Allah, but whatever contradicts with the Quran we don't believe is authentic because there was so much interference from people.

.. Mohamed visited a church and saw the statues etc and was upset at this so he decided to start his own thing . He changed and re wrote what he wanted . Then went to battle against any one that didn't follow him Some think the bible to be corrupt or what ever but the only real thing that has changed is that it has become easier to read and understand , for some . It has never been proven false or wrong and the old prophecys have come true including the nation of Israel and also another about to happen the dividing of Jerusalem .... The most sold book around the world and the oldest history book (bible )

The Bible has been changed over a period of time, and so God sent another Prophet with the same message "There is only one God with no partners. The Creator the Sustainer".
Its similar to the reason that Bible came... The Torah was changed over a period of time... remember Jesus went to the Temple and threw the people out.....
One of the main difference that I find is in Islam all the prophets are best of the people. They were chosen by God to carry the message to the people. In the 'current' Bible all these prophets are mentioned to be having vices.

When the Catholics in the 1200-1600s changed the Bible they threw out entire verses and books. They changed a lot of things in the Bible to suit their own desires and needs. Like the fact that they lied about Mary Magdalen being a prostitute. They said that Lot's(PBUH*) daughters took advantage of him and forced him to drink until he became intoxicate so they could rape him and have children by their father. The Qur'an is telling the true story. That is why the Bible and Qur'an differ.

Muslims consider the Quran as the final message and that is oversees the other texts. So Muslims take it over the bible.
Please keep asking questions
Sorry Muslims believe that satan is part of the jinn but due to his piety at the time he was with the angels. when he disobeyed God/Allah he was thrown out of heaven.

hello my brother ,,,
there are even differences between different virsions of bible ... the Holy Quran didn't change or rewritten so that means that the facts in it are the same .... while the in bible there are different books and different virsions ,, and the bible had been rewriten several times .... so some facts changed and other lost .... and that is the reason there are different stories ,,,,,,,, if u have the orignal bible from 2000 years ago u will find the same stories ...

O People of the Book! Why do you dispute concerning Abraham, When the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed till after him? Will you not then understand.
These are the verses of the Book, full of wisdom,
........ there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous,
O People of the Book! there has come to you Our Messenger who makes clear to you much of what you have kept hidden of the Book and forgives many of your faults. There has come to you indeed from Allah a Light and a clear Book.
O People of the Book! there indeed has come to you Our Messenger, after a break in the series of Messengers, who makes things clear to you lest you should say, 'There has come to us no bearer of glad tidings and no Warner.' So a bearer of glad tidings and a warner has indeed come to you. And Allah has power over all things.
And surely We have brought them a Book which We have expounded with knowledge, a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.
This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous,
But as for those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in that which has been revealed to Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He removes from them their sins and sets right their affairs.

(Their doom is) because Allah sent down the Book in truth but those who seek causes of dispute in the Book are in a schism far (from the purpose) - al-Baqarah:176
For We had certainly sent unto them a Book, based on knowledge, which We explained in detail, a guide and a mercy to all who believe - Al-A'raf:52
This Qur-an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book - wherein there is no doubt - from the Lord of the Worlds - Yunus:37
Qur'an reject Bible as it was rewrite on 50 A.D. and corrupted by priests those days.
The truth is in the Qur'an. It is translated into various languages but the originality of Qur'an is preserved up till today.

Authencity always comes from the original source and the Bible has been proven to be reliable and accurate all through the ages, even to the extent of archaelogical findings supporting this facts.
The Quran came into existence only many hundreds of years later, piaglarizing materials from other religions, namely Christianity - is it then any wonder why the stories are different? The changes have to be made to fit the Old testament stories to meet what is taught in the Quran.
For me, the only source of truth is the Bible, it is the inspired words of God, written through men led and directed by the Holy Spirit of God.
