I got a pretty decent soft case for my shotgun at Walmart, with a loop-and-zipper tab-hole for a padlock, for $15.

I've also done mail order for soft cases to Michael's of Oregon ("Uncle Mike's"). More pricey, but higher quality.

Shop carefully for hard cases - some look great, have either padlock holes or even built-in locks, but weak hinges that can be easily popped.

I got a great -LOOKING- one for $22 at Walmart that was like that. A "great bargain" on poor goods ain't no bargain.

but shop CAREFULLY!

I highly recommend the Cabellas Bulletproof series of cases.

Best locking mechanisms I fave seen. They use a bar that covers all of the clips of the case, and then uses a standard Lock (you pick the type you like best)

They are not the cheapest... nor the most expensive.

I would not use a case for long term storage, as the "sponge" materials tend to absorb moisture, and wick away oils... can lead to rusting...so store it safely in a safe / locker with a desiccant / moisture rod...

Some sporting goods stores do, but mostly they aren't particularly good. Cabelas.com has a good selection from the usual cheap stuff up to high end hard cases and expedition quality gear. Take a look at their on-line selection.

Bass Pro should have them too, I know they sell quality firearms but I have to admit I haven't been to one. Cabelas certainly have very good gear, that I have checked for myself in their Salt Lake and Reno stores.

A sporting goods place like Dick's will have them, Also you can check Cabela's website or a store if there is one close.
