No, I strongly believe that there are those people who practice their religion correctly and there are those who only practice what they chose to, eventually u have people believing different things about that religion base on one or a few bad apples.

Yes. Without followers any given religion would cease to exist. Followers are what make up any religion but you should not judge by the actions of only one follower, some people get things screwed up in there heads. I say give any religion at least a second chance.

Religions should be judge by the behavior of their followers like a lifelong criminal should be judged by his law abiding parents.
It should be judged on its own merits just as people should be judged.
When a system fails because of the stupidity of its parts, that does not mean the system was not good. It is just the nuts running it.

No, because there is a bad apple in every bunch. We should investigate the religion and compare it to the Bible. If it adds up we should accept it. If it doesn't match the Word of God we should reject it.

no relgion is just a structure of belife systems that is for a group of people it by itself cannot change a person or make a person act a certain way only spirituality which is a deaply personal set of beliefs and values can change a person and make them act a certian way.

I think so. A religion is made up of followers--how else can you judge? And in this case, they don't end up looking too great, do they?

It is not a bad rule of thumb. The question is from what value system do you judge? Likely your own.

"Ye shall know them by their fruits"....Matthew 7:16-23
always seemed like a good yardstick to me.........
If ones teachings do not have a discernable impact on the way of life...it is obviously not a very strong teaching......can it help one overcome things.....are they known to actually adhere to their beliefs under trial (as a group)...if not, what good is it?
