The main reason for a Jeep is off road. For off road you need clearance, clearance and more clearance. The four wheel drive components of a Jeep really cut into the gas mileage both on road and off both from the added weight and the added mechanical drag. What I'm saying is if you want a low rider why, pray tell, buy a gas hogging four wheel drive vehicle like a Jeep? Besides the transfer case and front drive shaft of the Jeep are what makes it set high to start with. Lowering it isn't practical, only idiotic.

If its a two wheel drive, it would be a fun project.

The idea of a 5.9l lowered with a chop and drop is pretty intriguing..........

Pricing.... Well it would depend. Most of the technical specifics involved would be the same ideas, just reversed to lower a Jeep. But the design of the front differential, driveshaft and transfer case positioning would be your enemies in this one.

But start with a 2wd Jeep, and you are going to be far ahead....

On general priciples I will try to answer this..but I do not like the idea of a lowered Jeep
For lowering, go find some junky foreign rig.
Ok,,venting over. There are literally HUNDREDS of outlets and parts to raise a jeep.
A quick search shows little to lower one. If you wish to pursue..and I do not agree, but you asked.
Do a search for Grand Cherokee lowering kits on yahoo.

either get springs out of a vehicle that is way lighter/lower than the jeep or get a cutting torch and heat the springs and get a large group of friends to stand on it while cooling

its a jeep. it was never meant to be lowered. if you really
want to lower a car then go buy an early 50's merc, chevy,
or dodge

When can I pick up your transfer case & front diff, seeing as you won't be needing them anymore?
