I was wondering,im from memphis Tn and i was wondeing,do we have accents that are noticable and what do the sound like?

Everyone has an accent, but we are not aware of it because we are so used to hearing others talk the way we do. I am from the north, so you obviously sound southern to me. A southern drawl

Depends who you are, but, yes, considering this area we do have accents. I'm from Oakland, TN (suburb of Memphis), and most of the accents out here are very southern.

If you really want to know, go to Iowa and listen to how they speak American English. It's a fact that there have been people from around the world such as India, who travel to Iowa to learn the English language, because the people from that region of the United States speak American English with the most proper annunciation according to the dictionary.

Most Southern states we sound different from the Northerners. We do have a twang to our speech and I love it! Yankees make fun of my accent and the way I pronounce my words, but I refer to you as you, and not yous

EVERYONE has an accent. YOU have an accent. I have an accent. It is just a matter of what kind of accent they have, not whether or not they have one at all. So yes. People from Memphis have accents.
