It depends how long you are in australia for Noosa is a long way from Melbourne. It will take you a few days to drive there. There is plenty to see in and around melbourne . Hire a car and go to The great Ocean Road . Also the Grampians. If you have time then Drive up to Queensland. don't forget to call into the Gold coast on the way. I wouldn't go much North than Noosa , in february otherwise you will find that your in The Tropics and it is the wet season there,.

That's rather like asking if you should go to Tallahassee when visiting New York or to Taranto when visiting London. Noosa is a long long way from Melbourne and if you are going that distance there are far more exciting and interesting places to visit than Noosa. For a start, Melbourne in February has much better weather than Noosa, it's the wet season on the east coast and it gets wetter the further north you go.

Noosa is a fabulous place but it is also a 3 hour flight from Melbourne (Melbourne's in the south in Victoria and Noosa is in Queensland about 2,500 km north). It will also be very hot and it's the rainy season in Noosa that time of year.
If you're going that far north, I'd go on up to Cairns or better still, Port Douglas so that you can dive or snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef...have fun!

Noosa is in Queensland, and it really dpeends. (i live in AUS) Noosa is a very busy place. so if you want action and you have kids, then yes. but if you want a quiet holiday, then no.
If you want peace try PALM COVE. IN TROPICAL NORTH QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA. near cairns!
good luck.
