Thanks for the answers. Though some of you missed the part where I was re-asking someone else's question, you've served my purpose well.
My point was to show that asking a question like this in V & V was akin to asking who likes the Yankees in Yankee Stadium.
Thanks again.

I ate meat, full well knowing an animal died for it. Most of us aren't born vegan. It's like a religion or anything we have drilled into us. It's just taught to us that animal's lives (unless of course it's one of our precious dogs, or cats) are worth less than ours. In my household it was "God put them here for that." Which makes no sense and I just LOLed at that logic.
I guess my point is don't judge. It's unnecessary. Make the difference that YOU can, and understand that they just don't look at it in the way you do. They don't feel guilty b/c it's not murder to them.
PS- I'd like to meet the PERFECT Vegan.

Are you saying meat eaters don't have a heart? I think that is very untrue. Quite insulting actually. I used to eat meat. Are you saying I only have a heart because I chose not to eat meat. What about vegetarians who are so because of health reasons or because they just don't like the taste of meat? I know meat eaters that will do anything for anyone. Just because they eat meat doesn't mean they don't have a heart.

Good Lord. Animals are not 'skinned alive' in order to feed meat eaters. What is wrong with the vegans of this world? I swear they are worse than Christians. I've only met a handful of Christians who were not hypocrites, and I have yet to meet a vegan or vegetarian who accepts people for themselves and not for what they put into their mouths.
Jeez. Get a life.

I don't feel guilty at all. Eat or be eaten. There is a reason people are at the top of the food chain. Would you rather eat an animal or die of starvation? Just a thought!
People need to realize that animals are just that, animals. Would I eat a domestic type of animal like my dog? No but would I eat bacon, etc. yes I would. Sounds cruel but that's the way it is. If God wanted us to be vegetarians, he wouldn't have made steak and lobster.

First of all animals aren't skinned alive. They are skinned after they are killed. If we just let every animal live until he died of old age there would be many that died from disease anyways because of over populating. Man did not eat animals until sin entered the world. In other words, It is no longer a perfect world and no matter how much you worry about it it's not going to change.

1)Because it's GOOD.
2)Animals aren't helpless, they have been surviving in the wild for a long time without your help.
3)If man quits eating animals, there will be a huge upswing in the animal population, which will lead to a lack of food, and then the rise of animals dying of starvation, thus leading to disease from animals eating other rotting animals. (Teddy Roosevelt)
4)God said we could.
By the way, if you eat jello or marshmallows, both are made with gelatin, which comes from ANIMALS.

humans were not created to be herbivores. Therefor we should all eat meat. It is good for you as long as you don't eat too much red meat. Look at other animals...does a lion care about an animal it kills and eats?

No helpless bunnies are skinned alive for anyone's dinner. All animals used for food are killed before they are eaten. How do YOU live with boiling your vegetables? That carrot is every single bit as alive as a cute little bunny you know.

I am a meat-eater, and a Christian. I say "Christian" because that's where I get my validation from. In the Old Testament, God gives Noah permission to eat animals after the flood, and in the New Testament, there are rules about which type of animals are approved for eating.
Biologically, meat-eating animals have specific teeth for tearing meat. Guess what? Humans have those teeth, too. They are our canine (or eye) teeth. Also, our front teeth (incisors) are designed for cutting meat.
Our ancestors ate meat for survival, and because of that you and I are here today. Animals kill and eat each other in the wild every second of every day. Humans ARE animals, too.
I certainly respect anyone's right to be vegetarian. But I also expect others to respect my right to be a non-vegetarian. What gets my goat (sorry for the pun) is vegetarians who judge me for using animal products when they, themselves are guilty. Read on:
Ever eat jello or gelatin? (made by boiling animal skin, bones and hooves)
Ever buy a leather purse, hat, coat or belt?
Ever buy Nike shoes? (leather!)
Ever use lotion or makeup that contains lanolin? (made from sheep skin)
Ever sleep on a down pillow? (feathers from slaughtered geese and ducks)
Ever taken a photograph? (all photograph films use gelatin - see above)
Ever feed your cat or dog typical cat or dog food? (loaded with animal by-products)
Products containing parts of slaughtered animals are deeply entrenched in our society. If you are judging others about killing animals, make sure you are not doing it yourself.

I refuse to apologize for being at the head of the food chain
If it were me vs a grizzly bear, I don't think he would have to join a support group after mauling me and consuming my carcass. When we no longer crave meat, or have teeth that are designed for tearing, then we will no longer eat meat till then...fire up the barbecue!
