Way too ambiguous. It depends on your situation. Are you planning to go to college? If not, you will need that full time job to get out on your own and pay your bills. If you are going to college, it might not benefit you at all. In fact, it might hinder your performance.
You need to ask yourself if it is necessary to have a full time job at the time you graduate based on your situation and plans. Strangers can't answer this question for you.

The advantage of getting any job is the money which will sustain you. Whether there are advantages in retailing remains to be seen.. If you are going to graduate high school soon, and you are interested in retailing, start placing your applications now before others who have the same idea get theirs in first. This may give you a jump start. Find out who does the hiring for the retail place where you would like to work.

You won't have to be a drain on your poor parents any longer!! What's wrong with your generation anyhow, why wouldn't you want a job even if you was going to college.
