I'm looking for a Texas tattoo artist that can do amazing work for a photo-realistic eagle shoulder piece. I'm wanting someone that can do realistic work, with a very traditional, American look. I don't want Japanese influenced, or 'Flash' type artwork.

I live in the Dallas area, but I'm willing to go anywhere in Texas if I can find the right artist. The problem is that I have an artistic background, too, so I'm not necessarily picky, so much as particular.

So please no generic replies, I want to hear from artists, or people who have had amazing work done by someone particular. Thanks!

"Somebody": What I mean is that I don't want the eagle to have the japanese look, or the flash look. I want it to look like a real eagle with the browns and golds and whites that go with it.

es12us is talking about James Clements who is (for now) working out of ShipWreck tattoos in Corpus Christi. James is a multi-talented artist. You bring him ANYTHING and he can copy it but he is FANTASTIC at original designs. I've seen him do portraits, japanese style, traditional........ James can do it all. I have some of his ink, my wife has one by him. He is the only person that my daughter and son-in-law will let work on them. In fact he is one of the FEW artists that I know who I would and have let freehand tattoo me. I'm sure that there are better known tattoo artists than him in Texas but I doubt any of them can actually tattoo as well as he does.

yeah, my artist is james clements and i recommend him to pretty much everybody who doesn't want flash (he WON'T do flash)

i am confused about your wanting a photo realistic tattoo but traditional american. they aren't the same thing. he does not really do traditional american style tattooing but is amazing at photorealism. so check out his myspace and good luck!
