Where can I find a Latin passage about a basilisk?

Question

I have already tried the Perseus Project, and the Latin doesn't link up right with the English.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

First off a basilisk is a monster from Greek mythology, not Roman. Romans didn't really invent monsters they adopted from other cultures.
