One never knows when they will be picked for jury duty. The pool is usually selected from the official voter lists of towns surrounding the federal or state court house. In all I was picked five times, three times I was exempted because of my employment and twice I was selected for the jury pool. In both instances the juries were for civil cases, both of which were settled after the jury had been selected and seated. We were excused.

It depends. They're looking for someone who will be non judgemental and believe in the statment "Innocent until proven guilty"

Its a job as part of being an American to serve jury duty. So if you do get picked, just take it for what it is and remember how lucky you are to be american.
