I find them to be particularly disturbing window into the mind of a man who perceives a world where only eight or nine people know about Jesus, where people die and go to Hell, and it is perfectly fine, as long as you can preach the living into a bloody pulp about it afterwards. A world where demons are real, and where God and the Devil play tug of war over some arbitrary person's soul. A world where people are called fanatics for inocuous Bible quotes, and where Catholics are akin to vampires.
The tracks should come barf bags attached.

Not me. Collectible, yes, but not enlightening.
My Chick tract story: I grew up in a very devout Italian Catholic household. One year, when I was a little kid, somebody put an anti-Catholic Chick tract in my Halloween bag. My mother completely freaked out over it, and my father got so angry that he went out to hunt down whoever did it. So my mother was crying and my father was heading down the street with a baseball bat, ready to break someone's kneecaps. It ended up wrecking my whole Halloween. That was my first enounter with Chick's work, but definitely not the last. Can't count how many people have given me Chick tracts trying to lure me away from Catholicism. Hasn't worked yet. Note: Chick's not just anti-Catholic. He's equally in the dark about Paganism, Freemasonry, and a stunning variety of other topics.

They enlighten the non-Christians (as well as the non-insane Christians) as to how the mind of a fanatical extremist works.

They scared the daylights out of me when I was little. I'm just glad that my exposure was because I stumbled across one; no adult actually gave one to me. That would have been even worse.
