Like most of you, I am against it too. I think it needs to stop, and they need to go back to their own country. I don't think it's fair that U.S. citizens (like ME) pay for someone else's needs.

Well I am against illegal immigration.

Send them all back to their countries? I am sorry to say but that is the stupidest comment I've ever heard. They can't all be sent back. Do you know how much that will cost us? You claim to not want to pay for others needs. But aren't you going to be paying for the transportation for these people back to their native countries?

Something needs to be done with the ones that are already here. I don’t care if its work permits, or a chance at legal residency. That way we know who they are and what the heck they are doing here. This isn’t brain surgery people.

Close the freaking borders...and not just Mexico but Canada and the ones coming by water. Its needs to stop. That is what we need to focus on...securing the borders so no more get in, and we take care of the ones here.

So that’s what I think...AMEN!

Sorry if I seem a little b*&#$y...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It all starts with the ways and means that the people are getting into the United States. The Mexican people aren't the only ones here illegal, there are a great number of people that are illegal because of many reasons such as the different visas issued without time limits that are a problem, passports, coming thru Canada to name a few. Our government has no tracking system or personnel to stay on top of reducing the illegal problems. The numbers each year now have gone up in large amounts indicating the new US citizens. My view on our government doing this is more US citizens, more taxes. We can't take care of our own US born citizens, much less an influx of frontiers that don't want to learn or speak the English language, yet are able to get any and all benefits that they possibly can, which also means illegals in their household..
You need to also include all the special interest or rights groups that aren't helping reduce the problems with illegals because of their actions.

Illegal immigration. One word says it all. "Illegal"

Those that cross our borders illegally and then want the respect of being here legally is an insult to the many that have taken the efforts, time and money to enter this country legally.

Anytime that we, U.S. citizens, turn a blind side to those that enter illegally are doing nothing more than giving a cold, hard slap in the face to those that have made the efforts to be here legally. We make the honest immigrants look to be fools for making the efforts to be honest and legal.

What I see happening is that many of our citizens are beginning to suspect anyone that does not look or sound "American" as being here illegally. This is a shame, for this is not the case and brings animosities and distrust towards those that are citizens and are here legally. ... What are we to think when we are so inundated by those that are here illegally? How do we separate our emotions from the realities?

I agree the problem needs to be solved in a rational fair and humane way. The stupid and ignorant thing to say "KICK THEM ALL OUT".
Their must be a common ground which limits the immigrants from coming into our country. Not sure if our government officials are going to get it right, but its surely not an easy problem to fix.

On the argument of the illegals are the root of our welfare and medicare problems that's bull!@#$. I've known and seen true born Americans who are 2nd and 3rd generation Welfare babies. More disturbing is that they are proud of the fact!

I feel that the problem will be solved faster if we put our prejudices and biases aside and look at the people involved as equals or at least human.

Well. First of all, listen to the other side of things... you don't have to believe it or agree or anything... just listen to other perspectives before forming your own and think critically about everything!
If it wasn't for critical thinkers torture, absolute patriarchy, tyranny, and the 13 colonies would still exist!

I'm not asking to favor illegal immigration I'm just asking you to listen to others' perspectives on the issue:

Watch the other side of things as portrayed in this informative website:

www.pinkyshow.org

Just look for the video on "illegal immigration" and you'll get a different perspective, because most people are not willing to think too much and just listen to the mainstream media.
Do yourself a favor and dare to know! (i'm encouraging you btw... not criticizing you)

I think it's wrong. It's frustrating because there are so many Americans that are having a hard time in today's economy. Illegal immigrants are a drain on government resources. Not to mention they can get credit cards (Bank of America) that they will probably default on and then Americans are left to pay rising interest rates because of this. I have no problems with immigrants that come here legally.

*This is a little add on from my original post. I have known both illegal and legal immigrants. I have to say that the people that came here legally really where looking for a better life, they followed the rules and became American citizens. I am proud of them, they worked hard and followed the rules. I have no nice words for the immigrants that came here illegally. They have made no effort to assimilate to life in America, and it is frustrating. *Please note I am talking about the immigrants that I know from Spanish speaking countries, that I personally know.*

*As far as people say we our a country of immigrants, yes that is true. Unless of course you are American Indian. However for our Ancestors it was not that easy to become an American. Many people where turned away when they reached the immigration stations. Immigrants where looked over by doctors and nurses. If they where not health enough they where sent back on a boat to their home country. If they where health enough they where on there own.

I think that people make a bigger deal of it than it really is. Like "oh we have a shortage of apples, its because the immigrants ate them". What is the difference between people who come here legally and illegally, they are still immigrants the same. I think it's just an excuse for people to complain about immigrants in general without saying it.

What people don't know is that, many foreigners are denied the right to travel to the US for many reasons, some reasons that they have no control over. For example, a young adult woman or man who isn't married and has no children is not allowed the right to travel to the US. Therefore, the only way for many people unfortunately is to come illegaly, people can say what they want, but 95% of us would do the same if we were in that situation.

You need any more info, email me, I can give you lots of illegal immigration details.

Immigrants are being scapegoated in the U.S. today
exactly the same way that Jews were scapegoated in
Nazi Germany. This is consistant with the fascist
movement being engineered by the U.S. ruling elite.
The purpose of fascism is to inflict the interests of
the wealthy-elite upon an unwilling public. Under
fascism, the public awareness of their problems and
who is to blame is diverted from corporate capitalism
to irrelevant minorities.

"Fasicism should rightly be called corporatism as it
is the merge of state and corporate power." -- Benito
Mussolini (father of fascism)

Immigrants come to the U.S. because conditions are
intolerable in their own nations. This is largely the
result of U.S. imperialism. Nobody wants to pick-up
and leave their homeland only to be demonized in another
country. If you want to stop illegal immigration, stop
promoting a system of govenment that demands global
hegemony and imperialism. Instead promote a global
labor movement that insures a living wage for all of
the world's people and everyone will stay at home and
enjoy their families.

But capitalism will never promote a living wage for all of the world's people because it is detrimental to the interests of the
super-rich -- and the interests of the super-rich is what capitalism is all about. The foundation of capitalism rests upon a massive amount of slave labor. Forty-one percent of
the world's people live in abject poverty, on less than
$2 per day, as they toil to produce the goods upon which
the foundation of capitalism rest. Were these people
treated fairly, capitalism would utterly collapse. And that
number doesn't include the millions more who toil in
poverty in the developed nations on substandard wages.

The ruling-elite have a long history of demonizing a
group of people while at the same time profitting from pushing that group into second-class status -- as all Black people from the pre-civil rights movement are well aware.
Of course, this all makes perfectly logical sense. A demonized group of second-class citizens is always forced to work for lower wages. This has the add benefit to the wealthy capitalists of dragging down wages for all working class people.

"You can't have capitalism without racism and you
can't have racism without capitalism." -- Malcolm X

Yes. Illegal immigration should be stopped.

But, how?

a) Make it easy to apply for legal immigration for the purpose of work. It should take less than 10 days to approve / disapprove applications not 10 years!

b) Punish the employers who employ illigals.

c) Protect the boarders.

d) Do not call them illegal immigrants; call the lovers of rich - the illegal employers. Without them, there will not be "illegal immigrants."

e) Fix the problem not symptoms. Fix the creators of the problem not those that are affected.
