Has anybody recently read this? Could you please give me the main characters and their significance, kind of like what sparknotes would do. That would be very much appreciated.

Sounds like a homework assignment (again). If so, you are trying to take the easy path. The book is about not taking the easy path.

Here is a great review of the book.

Hum... This book is a Lance Armstrong autobiography and as I am sure you realize, he is a complete character. The book covers his youth, his bout with cancer, and the early part of his Tour de France career. The book is funny in parts, tragic in others, and quite inspirational. You should read the book.

In the meantime, perhaps you'll enjoy reading the reviews on Amazon:

Hope this helps.

I think you should read the two followups to this title.

"Ok, it really is about the bike" by Lance Armstrong

and

"Screw you Lance!" by Lance's bike

Just read the freakin' book already! If you're THAT lazy, you don't deserve to know about Lance, and should just limit your questions to Society & Culture>Lazy People>Text Messaging.
