Yes it is ok for girls to learn either judo or karate actually there are a lot of female in karate now than before even 5 years ago. Plus learning with the right instructor is very important. Because there are many fly by night instructors and schools.

This is not an insult but its ridiculous for you to say its a manly thing. Martial Arts is open for every human being, its to develop your discipline as a fighter, then the moves and techniques come easy =]. So there is nothing wrong for a female to partake in something that can change they way she lives. Go for it you have nothing to lose

yes, I wouldn't recommend you to go into muuy thai or FMA, but karate or judo is great for women and girls because, judo concentrates on using your opponents energy to your advantage and in karate you learn the technique to properly fight.

That is soo stereotype of you to say that. Who cares? I mean would it be very manly if it so happens that girl kicked your behind?
Now if that happened, would you say who cares? Just because it was you that get beaten?
Now if you don't get my point, what I'm saying is it's retarded to put certain activities as "manly" or "womenly".
We're all human! What does it matter? Oh yeah Women and Men are two totally different species of animals! yeah, sure go believe the idiots that tell you if something is manly or not or womely or not!

Yes.
Martial arts or a combat system is not exclusively for guys. As a matter fact, you'll be more fit and in turn become more attractive (an in shape body is attractive)

Bottom line - of course it's ok. Don't let some one tell you that you can't do something that you want because you are a girl.
