Is calling my question stupid your way of defending your faith. It must be fragile, if it needs defending.

I think U.S. and International relations will decline if another evangelical President is elected.

Social issues may also step backward (Roe v. Wade overturned and "trigger laws" in the states go into effect, constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, lack of state laws protecting civil unions of gays currently raising children), less funding to stem cell research, broader funding to religious organizations by government, introduction of intelligent design into science classes, lowered rates of scientific literacy, etc.

Nothing too horrific, I don't think, but still something to be concerned about. Just be glad that our Constitution has a Bill of Rights, or we'd have long lost them to religious and political extremism.

I don't think the religion of the president has too much to do with the mere survival of the human species. Still, there is the issue of fatalistic prophecies affecting long-term environmental policies...An atheist couldn't say, for instance, "well, it says in the bible that this all gets destroyed in the end, so let's not worry too much about keeping it up". I think that would be Huckabee's official statement, if that joker gets elected (or not elected; they seem to end up in the white house either way).

I think its more a matter of what they do then if they are supposedly Christian or not.

I know we as a country wont survive if the next president doesnt focus on the internal factors rather then the external factors. Our country is in shambles and instead of focusing on everyone else and their dog we need to fix "home" first.

If a so called Christian president can do that good, if an athiest one can do that, good.

No.

If another Republican/Christian president gets elected somehow, I'm not sure if I'll lose faith in the electoral system or the American population.

Either way, I'd be out of here like a midget in a high jump.

That's probably the dumbest question I've seen lately. What the world needs is a leader that reads and follows the teachings of Christianity. I don't know about you, but if you look back a little, Christ was pretty much awesome. Who wouldn't want a leader like that? To be Christian is to be "Christ like". The question you should be asking is, "Will the world be able to survive another fake Christian president?".

Don't put the slam on Christianity based on its followers. That's stupid. You can't hate a faith because the followers can't get it right. People are horrible representatives of spirituality. Many times they use it to their own personal gain, and don't realize how it's impacting other people, and those peoples views of that faith. Then when a good Christian comes along, they're stereotyped, labeled and generalized to be just like every other bible thumping nut.

by their fruits, I am not real sure how many if any Christian presidents we have actually had. Only God knows the heart of each one. God is the one who puts them in power or takes them out.

Only if he's the sort of Christian that actually strives to be Christ-like, rather than the kind that likes to start wars and torture people.

I hate the second kind.

Bush is not Christian. Because someone claims to be something, that dosen't make it so.

he is anti-Christian and cannot be trusted.

Depends on your definition of survival. We may in fact survive, but I doubt any of us will like it much.

Thank God for George Bush, we'd have been attacked again by now if not for GW and our future is more secure.

We MUST have a Christian President...I like Mike 08
