when watching old footage, the octagon seems so much larger. any ideas on the dimensions?

I believe they have sized down the cages, but also heightened them as well, a safe guard against the Tank Abbots of the world who would try to eject their opponent from the ring.

I'm not sure of the dimensions, but you could probably check any fight equipment retailer and figure out an answer based on their training cages that they sell.

Hard to tell, but I think it's gotten smaller. I know that it's gotten alot more sturdy. I seem to recall a single digit UFC where the padding kept coming off the posts. Side note: I saw a KOTC where a guy hit his head on the post and split his head open.
