interpret this dream please?

i had a dream that i was getting married and just as i was going in for the kiss my "fiance" decides to tell me he's a recovering alcholic his case was severe and wants me to think about if i still wanted to marry him i didn't care and neither did my mother. ( i am single and would normally walk away from the situation) i have never had a dream like this one

A dream of marriage most often reflects the integration of some behavior, interpersonal skills or the like into ones personality. That the fiance is a male indicates that the behavior being integrated, or which is about to be integrated into the personality is a masculine behavior. It may be a rational bent to one's thinking, it may be initiative, assertiveness or something of that sort. That your "fiance" decides at the last moment to warn you that he's a recovering alcoholic may be indicative that the behavior, or attitude, or whatever is inclined to be "all or none". Or, that you are afraid it will be "all or none". By that I mean that it may dominate, or that you're afraid it'll dominate your personality.

Another thought that occurs to me is to wonder if you have in your life some male role model who is an alcoholic, or someone important to you who is an alcoholic and shares either your occupation or some other commonality.

These are kind of groping guesses because I know so little (except you're single and have a mother) of your circumstance. Think about what's going on in your life. Are you making some sort of changes, or thinking of making some sort of changes which would entail the need for more assertiveness, more control, less passivity? Are you afraid that a new role will change you from what you are, or more correctly, how you are used to thinking of yourself?
