my girl has a hell of a temper on her and when she gets really upset she hits me , hard bloodys my nose and lips .. i am a strong man and try to keep myself calm, but i am a ex marine that just got back from iraq and tend to have trouble doing that sometimes .. the other day we got in a fight and she busted my nose , i lost it and busted her lip wide open. Is that ok? I really dont feel that bad about it since she hit me first over and over again. Should I feel bad?

Whoa...That really dosent seem like a Productive Relationship. If You really Love Her you should take her to a Anger Management Program(i am serious). If you dont truly love her. then end the Relationship. You do have every right to hit her back, But you should know how to control your anger, especially when u are with a Female. And You should know main Priority not to hit a Women. Even if she Breaks your Nose, Breaks your Arm, whatever, Try to refrain yourself from hitting Her. That Shows that you are better than her and shows are a real man.

Hell no don`t feel bad. I think I would try Embuggering her the next time she gets really upset. If that don`t work then maybe you should leave her and let her find some sailor that would put with her sh*t. Usually a couple good, solid, no nonsense Embuggerations takes most of the sap out of a girls temper.

Well, it is never ok to hit another person. She should not be hitting you, and you should not be hitting her. Maybe you need to find out why she gets so mad that the only answer is to hit you. We all get mad but hitting is never the answer. Sounds like if you want to stay in this relationship she needs to get some anger management, and you need to find out why you stay in this abusive relationship.
I understand that you are a man, but men can be abused also. Get help, and if you don't think she is the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with move on. Life is to short to live that way.

Both of you are not doing the right thing! Whatever the problem is, there's no need for fists to be thrown at each other, aggression does not help to resolve problems, it creates them. Both of you need to learn to calm down and discuss things through in a calm and respectful manner. If nothing works out, I suggest you end this before it gets out of control as it is a very unhealthy relationship.
I hope there was no children about, you'll frighten them.

Well you defiantly shouldn't have busted her lip. No matter how many times. You should have gotten marriage counseling (seriously) before it got that far. Your not supposed to hit a girl. You should feel bad. But then again sorry that your kinda not ok from Iraq. Hope things get better!

Aside from this not being a very healthy relationship, I think the question is really about whether or not it was right at that moment.
It's not possible, while being beaten on, to just think, "this shouldn't be happening" and ignore it. She was hitting you, and you had to stop her. So, at that moment, I think you did the correct thing. In the long run, she probably needs some help.

US Marine vs girlfriend. Who do you think the cops are going to believe. As a Marine you know that it's ok to hit a female to defend yourself, but I'd get out of that relationship FAST!! It's only a matter of time before someone calls the cops on you two.

omg no, never.im not trying to sound all dbl standerdish but you just said your self you are a strong man. and she is a girl. i mean she should have never hit you but you should have never hit her so just the same as it was not right that she hit you it was really not right that you hit her. if i were her, i would never feel safe around you again. you knew ( being a strong man) that if you hit her, you would hurt her. and you did it anyways. thats not right. but she did hit you so i mean whatever you think justifys it to make you feel better is your own bussiness

No it's not ok what you did...but it's hard not to hit someone back when they keep hitting you. When she gets upset you have to leave the house, I don't think by hitting her back she's going to stop beating on you anyway...If you stay you risk getting into trouble should she report it to the police. It's not worth it.

Get the help that you need and find a healthy relationship. Being a strong man you understand strength is staying calm in the worst of situations. Strength comes from being in control of yourself.
