Is Gardena a bad area to live in? Isn't in south central or like near compton or something?

Gardena is not that bad even though Compton is just east of the city. Gardena has some bad areas, but don't let that get you down, all cities in LA have some bad neighborhoods.
Some people like to diss Gardena because a lot of Hispanics live there now but it's not that bad. You can walk around without worrying about getting shot. It gets a bad rap because of where it's situated but to tell you the truth it's actually very nice in some areas, especially towards the west side of the city.
Also, Gardena has some of the best, affordable food in the south bay area. It's definitely worth a trip for Japanese, Mexican, and Korean food. Oh and definitely Spoon House (my favorite spot) it's a Japanese spaghetti restaurant. Sounds weird but it's the best.

Gardena is closed to Compton. Gardena is not that bad.
Gardena is not in South Central not even Compton is consider South Central. South Central is so 90s. I live in the notorious city of Compton. Like every city we have ugly and bad places and good and nice places. Some parts of Gardena are nice and pretty safe;however, others are very dangerous. If you want a horrible place than Watts is your place.

And I have lived in Gardena since 1958. Like most areas we have good ones and some that are not so good. Northeast area of Gardena is not that good, but I live in Southwest Gardena and in a very nice area. But as I said, with all areas, good or bad, there is still crime. Nowhere can you completely get away from it. East Gardena is closest to Compton, but still not that close. Get a map out and take a look.

I worked in Gardena for the last 35 years of my life. Never had a problem no matter what time of day. Gardena is further south, and slightly west of south Central. All areas have good and bad sections, but all in all Gardena isn't too bad a community.

Gardena is better than South Central but it is close by to Compton, Watts, South Gate, and North Carson. The real problem is that there are so many gangs and just being the on street you can be a target. Also the income is much lower in these areas so crime is much higher which makes since because everyone needs to eat.

No, it's near Carson, Torrance, Hawthrone. There is nothing wrong with South Central and Compton. There is plenty of crime in Gardena.
